The moment Ryan saw Claire in her wedding dress, he found a target for all the anger he had been storing up.

He pushed through the crowd, heedless of the room full of guests, and unleashed his fury on her.

“Claire Bennett, you’ve really outdone yourself. You hired a stranger to storm the ballroom, assault people, and impersonate my investor. All because you can’t stand to see me succeed?”

He lost control and raised his hand to strike her.

The guests erupted. Claire flinched and closed her eyes.

I moved before his palm could land, yanking Claire behind me and blocking his arm.

“Touch her and see what happens.”

Still shaken, Claire clutched the skirt of her wedding gown. Her eyes reddened as she looked at me

in confusion.

I lowered my voice and told her everything Chloe had done under Ryan’s protection.

The color slowly disappeared from Claire’s face.

She stared at Ryan as tears slipped down her cheeks and darkened the lace at her neckline. Her

hands shook with humiliation.

“Is everything Evelyn told me true? Chloe humiliated my best friend in front of all these people, and you defended her without even asking what happened? And you let her set rules for my wedding and my marriage?”

Ryan showed no guilt at the tears of the woman he claimed to love. He only became angrier at being

challenged.

His brows drew together as he shifted all the blame onto Claire.

“Don’t let her manipulate you. Where did you even find this actress? She had the nerve to impersonate the investor in my company and come here just to embarrass me.”

I laughed at his stubborn stupidity.

Then I took out my phone and made a call in front of everyone.

“Come inside. Meet me in the center of the ballroom.”

Daniel Cole, the Hartwell Capital executive overseeing Ryan’s funding deal, had also been invited to

the wedding and was already waiting outside.

Less than a minute later, the ballroom doors opened, and Daniel strode in wearing a tailored suit.

Ryan’s eyes lit up the moment he saw him.

His face changed at once. He hurried over with a broad, ingratiating smile.

“Mr. Cole, I’m glad you’re here. A woman just barged in and claimed she represented your firm. She

has been disrupting the wedding, but security is about to remove her.”

He pointed at me in the center of the crowd.

“Where is security? Drag this woman out before she causes trouble for Mr. Cole.”

Everyone looked between Daniel and me. Several guests wore mocking expressions, already anticipating my humiliation.

Daniel ignored Ryan completely.

He walked straight past him, stopped in front of me, and inclined his head respectfully.

“Ms. Hart, I didn’t expect to see you here.”

The ballroom went silent.

Ryan’s eager smile froze. He stood motionless, staring at me in disbelief.

“Ms. Hart?”
