Her Familial Usurper System Failed On Me Chapter 07

Her Familial Usurper System Failed On Me Chapter 07

When reality didn’t give her what she wanted, Nora took the fight online.

She used whatever energy the system had left to flood the internet with smear posts.

Past midnight, the trending topics exploded. The headlines were brutal–claims I’d bullied my foster sister, that I was mentally unstable, that Mom was covering up for her biological daughter.

The photos were carefully chosen. Me being made to stand in the hallway as punishment. Me in pajamas at the auction. Nora’s swollen face. Nora’s arm with a cartoon band–aid.

The posts spun a long, pitiful story, casting her as a poor, long–suffering victim.

The comments were vicious.

The butler wanted to take my phone away. I didn’t let him.

I stared at the screen for a minute, then clicked on the longest, most hateful comment.

Someone wrote: [People like Anna Langley should be locked up in an asylumand her mom only

protects her becuase she’s rich!!!]

I typed back slowly:

[‘Becuase she’s rich‘ should be ‘because she’s rich.‘ Basic grammar.]

The comment section paused for a second. Then exploded harder.

Nora sat in her rental apartment staring at her stats. She’d just taken a sip of water and sprayed it all over her keyboard.

She smashed her desk, switched to a burner account, and kept attacking me.

I replied again: [You forgot a comma after ‘asylum.“]

Third reply: [Too many exclamation points. It’s exhausting to read.]

Fourth: [You called me ‘slow‘ three times in a row. Consider expanding your vocabulary.]

The online tide began to shift. Some people called me shameless.

But others were laughing–saying this was the first time they’d ever seen someone get cyber–bullied and respond by proofreading.

Nora watched her engagement tank and nearly broke her keyboard in frustration.

She wasn’t done. She released a recording of herself crying, claiming I often stared at her with empty eyes, that I scared her, that she was afraid to go back to the Langley house.

The backlash surged again.

Just as the topic hit number one, Mom came home

She stood in the living room and saw me on my phone, correcting grammar. Her face went dark. “Who let her see any of this?”

The butler hung his head.

I raised my hand. “I did. Their grammar is bad.”

Mom was silent for three seconds. Then she turned to her secretary. “Full crisis mode. Thirty

minutes.”

Langley Holdings PR went into overdrive.

Ten minutes later, the influencer accounts started deleting posts. Fifteen minutes in, the platform posted a notice. Twenty minutes, all topics were removed. At thirty minutes, legal letters flooded

the internet.

Not the kind meant to scare. The kind with IP locks, evidence preservation, notarized files, and

lawsuits already on record.

Nora was still frantically creating new accounts in her rental. Then someone knocked on her door.

She didn’t open it. The door swung open anyway.

Police stood at the entrance. “Nora Whitmore, you’re under investigation for inciting harassment and defamation. Please come with us.”

Her face went white. She screamed, “It wasn’t me! The system made me do it!”

The officer frowned. “System?”

Nora called out desperately in her head. This time, the system didn’t answer.

Mom took my phone away. “From now on, you don’t look at this stuff.”

I thought for a moment. “But what if they make more grammar mistakes?”

Mom put the phone aside. “Let the lawyers handle.”
