He Was Ready To Die Until I Told Him I Was Pregnant Chapter 10

The questions kept getting worse. Arthur’s patience was visibly running out.

“What are you even talking about?”

“The jewelry is for my daughter.”

The reporters blinked.

“But… your daughter just turned one, didn’t she?”

“What’s a one-year-old going to do with jewelry like that?”

“It’s for her future.”

Arthur stared at them like they were hopeless.

“Raising a daughter is expensive!”

“You wouldn’t get it. None of you have daughters.”

The reporter stared at him, completely dumbfounded.

She tried one more angle.

“But you bought two sets.”

“The other one is for Mrs. Vance, isn’t it? She’s known for wearing white, and you bought an all-white

diamond set…”

“The other set is for my wife.”

Arthur looked at her like she’d lost her mind.

“Why would I buy jewelry for someone else’s wife?”

“I’m warning you. Watch what you print.”

“If my wife sees this and gets the wrong idea, you’ll be hearing from my lawyers.”

He was done. He turned on his heel and got into the car without another word.

Not a single reporter followed.

I’d been watching the whole thing on live TV, trying not to laugh.

Lily didn’t understand a word of it, but she spotted her dad on screen and started clapping.

The comments rolled in.

[I’m SCREAMING. Eleanor was glued to the TV the whole time, fully convinced the jewelry was for her. She

thought he was about to come crawling back…]

[And it had absolutely nothing to do with her Imao]

[The delusion is unreal.]

[The divorce didn’t go through, and Julian’s company officially went bankrupt. They’re drowning in debt…]

[And since they’re still married, she’s legally on the hook for all of it. She’s losing her mind.]

[Karma. She played both sides and ended up with nothing.]

[And she STILL had the nerve to try and break up his family even after the baby was born. She’s textbook

toxic.]

[She made her bed. Now she gets to lie in it.]

Couldn’t agree more.

I was still smiling to myself when Arthur walked through the door, jewelry boxes in his hands.

He leaned down and kissed me like it was the most natural thing in the world.

I kissed him back, laughing. “You know Lily’s jewelry collection could fill a vault at this point, right?”

“Not even close.”

“How could this ever be enough?” Arthur shook his head, dead serious.

“You’re the one who said daughters need to be raised knowing their worth.”

“This is nothing. I want to give her everything beautiful this world has to offer.”

He paused, then reached for my hand.

“And you.”

My smile widened.

Arthur was getting dangerously good at saying the right things.

Being around him made me want to laugh all the time.

A lifetime of this? I could get used to that.
