He Ran to Save Her from Being Erased, Not Knowing He Erased Himself from Me Chapter 13

He Ran to Save Her from Being Erased, Not Knowing He Erased Himself from Me Chapter 13

I took Julian to the campus clinic.

After a quick cleanup, he was fine.

“Are you stupid? You’re a professor at Standford, and you got into a fistfight at a party. Aren’t you

embarrassed?”

I honestly couldn’t wrap my head around how he thought.

Were all men seriously this stupid?

It was basically no different from getting drunk and starting a fight.

Julian laughed. A stupid laugh.

“Debater Elara, what do you think is more important, life or love?” He asked me the same question from

years ago.

It was just like when he stood on the debate stage, serious and composed, asking me that same thing.

I stared at him, then lightly smacked him on the head. “Are you crazy?”

“I think love is more important. Without love, life is just an empty shell, no different from being dead.” Julian

said it with total seriousness.

I was at a complete loss. I threw up my hands. “Fine, fine. Love wins. You got me.”

He smiled again.

I noticed he seemed really happy tonight. He kept smiling.

But it was getting dark, and I needed to find Hailey, the human garbage disposal.

I told him this was goodbye. Maybe we’d meet again someday.

He was going back abroad, so we’d probably need a miracle to run into each other again.

Julian looked like he wanted to say something. I could see something welling up inside him, but he held it

back.

“Well, I’m going. Bye.” I waved.

Julian opened his mouth, then closed it. Just as I reached the door, he finally spoke. “Elara, are you still

going to marry Nolan?”

I stopped. I immediately realized he knew about my history with Nolan.

Even though I had no memory of it.

“Did someone put you up to this? Who was it?” I turned to look at him.

“Sierra told me you and Nolan broke up. So I came back.” Julian didn’t hide it.

Sierra.

It all clicked.

Julian had been played by Sierra.

She was manipulative.

She used her cancer to make Nolan feel sorry for her, which stopped him from marrying me.

But Nolan still loved me. He wouldn’t give up, so Sierra dragged Julian into this as a distraction.

If Julian took me away, Nolan would have no choice. He would only have Sierra left.

“You were used.” I shook my head.

Julian smiled. “That’s not the point. Haven’t you noticed? I’m telling you I like you.”

“I noticed. It looks like debater Elara not only beat you in that contest, but also stole your heart.” I smirked.

Julian sat on the cot, looking up at me. “You haven’t changed. You’re still like that tree on the edge of a cliff,

swaying proudly, growing wild in the sun and the wind.”

“Thanks for the compliment.”

“Can I be the little blade of grass next to you?” Julian asked.

“Keep growing. The ground’s too harsh, it’s not easy to grow there.” I waved and walked away.
