He Paid for the Wrong Heart Chapter 15

He Paid for the Wrong Heart Chapter 15

I returned to Harbor Point.

With more than seven hundred miles between us, the scene at the school gate felt like a

hallucination.

The following spring, I crossed paths withh Nolan.

Technically, he was my client.

I heard the coworkers around him call him Mr. Voss.

“This project isn’t even that big, is it? Why did Mr. Voss insist on coming himself?”

“You’re new here, so you don’t know. Mr. Voss likes business trips. He’s always traveling all over the place.”

That did sound like Nolan.

Compared with the past, he had become much steadier.

The first time I saw him again, I almost did not recognize him.

But when he saw me, he nearly knocked over an entire tea set.

After leaving the company, we found a coffee shop.

We sat across from each other, and he was quiet for a long time.

“Long time no see,” he said.

To be honest, I was happy to see him.

We talked for a long time.

But neither of us mentioned anyone or anything related to our past.
