He Made My Wedding Dress Half a Size Too Small, Then Begged Chapter 04

He Made My Wedding Dress Half a Size Too Small, Then Begged Chapter 04

My blood ran cold. I fought to keep my voice from shaking.

“I refuse. Liam, we’re done.”

I hung up, still shivering from the chill of his words.

I hadn’t realized until that moment how little my reputation mattered to him.

I thought my refusal would be the end of it. But Liam logged into my account himself and posted a statement.

[I admit I made false claims out of jealousy. I sincerely apologize to Victoria Blake for any damage caused.]

The narrative flipped again in an instant. My feed crashed under the barrage of abuse.

[I knew it—Victoria could never be the other woman. You’re just delusional.]

Liam also posted from his own account.

[The wedding gown was designed and made for Victoria Blake from the very beginning. There is no third party. As for the invitation—Emma altered it out of jealousy to replace Victoria’s name.]

[That said, everyone is welcome to join Victoria and me at our wedding.]

He attached the original sketch of the gown and a brand-new invitation. Where my name used to be, Victoria’s name now sat in its place.

Before I could process any of it, my phone rang.

“I’m so sorry, Emma,” Victoria’s voice trembled on the other end. “Liam only said that to protect my reputation. Think of the wedding and Liam as… borrowed. Just one day—let me have this one day.”

Liam cut in. “Apologize to her? If it weren’t for you, her reputation wouldn’t be ruined in the first place. You owe her this.”

He took the phone from her. “I’m only holding a sham wedding to clear Victoria’s name. Our wedding—I’m postponing it one week.”

I gripped the phone so hard my fingers ached. “Don’t bother. Since you’ve always wanted Victoria, I’ll step aside.”

Silence hung on the line.

I looked down. He’d already hung up.

I laughed bitterly to myself.

Fine. There was no need to tell them I was flying out tomorrow.

On the day of the wedding, videos flooded the internet. People tagged me in the comments.

[Liam and Victoria are married now. Keep your mouth shut, homewrecker.]

[I tagged her a hundred times and she’s been playing dead the whole time.]

After the ceremony, Victoria bit her lip nervously. “Liam, I’m still scared people will figure out it’s fake. Could we… get a real license? Just to ride out the storm. We can annul it later when the heat dies down.”

When he hesitated, she turned away, dabbing at her eyes. “If you’re worried about Emma, forget it. When the truth comes out, I’ll take the blame. I’ll even retire…”

Liam’s resolve hardened. “It’s just a formality. Emma will understand.”

They went to City Hall and got the license.

That evening, after replying to all the congratulations, Liam finally remembered me.

He’d been too busy changing names on the wedding invitations to check his phone. He expected my messages to flood his inbox.

But when he opened our chat—there was nothing. My last message was six days ago.

A flicker of unease passed through him. But he wrote it off as me still sulking.

He sighed and told another tailor, “Maggie, for next week’s wedding, alter the gown to Emma’s size.”

Maggie froze. “But the wedding’s off, isn’t it? Emma returned the gown and the reception dress already.”
