He Faked Cancer While I Lost Thirty Babies For Him Chapter 06

Her parents had never died at all. To this day, they were living comfortably abroad.

And Sebastian had been paying for all of it.

Later, when Chloe heard that Sebastian had made his comeback, she had already racked up gambling debts and debts from her affairs overseas.

With nowhere left to go, she fled back in a panic and ran to Sebastian for protection.

She thought those people would never dare make trouble in front of Sebastian, but she never expected the debt collectors to come after her directly.

Chloe did not want Sebastian to find out about any of it and stop being her powerful backer.

So she begged Lena to help her. She fell to her knees in front of Lena and begged for mercy.

Naive Lena took pity on Chloe after hearing her carefully edited half-truths, so she helped.

That was why Lena sent Chloe to Snowridge, Alaska.

“Chloe, I’m going to kill you!”

Sebastian’s eyes were red as he rushed to the operating room nearby, grabbed a scalpel, and started toward Chloe’s hospital room.

But after only two steps, a low, unfamiliar male voice slowly sounded from the far end of the hallway.

There was a trace of amusement in it, along with unmistakable pressure.

“Why the hurry, Mr. Langford?”

Sebastian looked over and saw a man in a black overcoat walking toward him slowly, both hands tucked in his pockets.

“A distinguished guest has arrived at the Langford estate.”

“I came personally to invite you.”

“I’m sure you’ll want to meet him, Mr. Langford.”

“After all, our boss is from Snowridge, Alaska.”

In the private hospital room, Chloe grabbed a blanket and hurled it at the nurse.

“Where is Mr. Langford? Why hasn’t he come to see me?”

“Doesn’t he know I miscarried?”

The nurse went pale with fear and stammered, “Mr. Langford has already returned to the Langford estate. I heard an important guest arrived, and they’re hosting a dinner for him.”

Chloe’s eyes shifted, and a plan suddenly formed in her mind.

Enduring the pain, she got dressed while muttering nonstop.

“Oh, I miscarried because Lena drugged me. My baby is gone, and Lena even hit me.”

She thought the important guests must all be prominent members of Harbor City’s elite.

If she made a scene, and with the childhood-sweetheart bond she already had with Sebastian, Harbor City’s elite circles would surely think even worse of Lena.

That would make it even easier for Chloe to take her place as Mrs. Langford.

The more she thought about it, the more pleased she became. She called an Uber and went straight to the Langford estate.

She took off her sunglasses and started sobbing the moment she stepped into the living room.

But when she finally saw the important guest in the room, her face went deathly pale.

“How… how are you here?”

“Chloe, when you were stringing me along in Snowridge, bleeding me for money and nearly getting me killed, did you really think you could get away with it?”

After Chloe was sent to Snowridge, Alaska, she had spent her days drinking, partying, and sleeping around.

She had hooked up with one man after another, including Silas King, the so-called crime boss from Snowridge who had just appeared.

Later, when Lena saw that Chloe had already avoided the worst of the debt collectors, she had even kindly tried to bring Chloe back.

But Chloe had only lashed out at Lena with vicious insults.

Eventually, Chloe used Silas’s money to pursue one last pretty-boy freeloader, and that man scammed her instead.

She lost all her money and had nowhere left to turn.

So she fled back home in a hurry.

Then she turned around and blamed Lena instead, using every scheme she could think of to claim that Lena had kidnapped her, sent her to Snowridge, and left her to suffer endless abuse.

And Sebastian had already felt guilty toward Chloe. Once he saw the story Chloe had carefully staged, he believed her almost immediately.

“Mr. Langford, I also found out that while you were pretending to be bankrupt, Mrs. Langford secretly gave birth to a child.”

“But after Mrs. Langford gave the five-month-old baby up for adoption, the baby died of an infectious disease…”

“I also found out that three months ago, Mrs. Langford developed cancer after testing experimental medication…”

And Chloe’s baby had been another man’s child, and she had planted the drug herself.

As Lucas Reed reported everything, Sebastian sat on the bed with empty eyes.

“I killed Lena.”

“I was blind in every way. I trusted that bitch, and I killed Lena.”

“I deserve to die. I should die!”

In the next second, Sebastian suddenly grabbed the scalpel on the table and drove it hard into his neck.
