He Designed A Dream Dress For Her, He Never Designed One For Me Chapter 05

He Designed A Dream Dress For Her, He Never Designed One For Me Chapter 05

Julian went berserk and overturned one of the reception tables. Soft drinks, wine, and food spilled across the

floor while I stood there and watched him lose control.

My gaze remained cold and calm.

“Why? Why aren’t you reacting at all?”

“Elise, how can you be this calm?”

Was I calm?

When I saw the gown he had designed for Mia and watched him lead her out from backstage, jealousy had

nearly driven me out of my mind.

The pain had been unbearable. I had wanted to storm onto the runway and destroy everything in front of me.

But once I calmed down, all I wanted to do was cry.

By the time the tears stopped, all that remained was calm and relief.

“Is this because of Mia? Because you can’t accept her?”

“I told you before that Mia was abducted as a child. The people who raised her abused her, and it took everything she had to escape. She has never felt safe since.”

“I only married her so she would feel secure. You used to understand me. Why can’t you be reasonable

now?”

“Mia has no one but me. Being married to her doesn’t have to change anything between us. I promise.”

Julian kept explaining with red-rimmed eyes, even raising a hand as though he were taking an oath.

Not a word he said sank in.

When it came down to it, he still refused to give Mia up.

But love leaves no room for divided loyalties. I didn’t want a love that wasn’t entirely mine.

“Security, get him out of here.”

I turned to continue the ceremony, and Nathan signaled for his security team to remove Julian.

Julian fought against them desperately. Then a dazed look crossed his face as the room seemed to spin

around him and his mind went blank.

“You two are already legally married? That quickly?”

The large screen behind us suddenly displayed a photo of our official marriage certificate.

The proof hit Julian like a physical blow.

“No. That’s impossible. You only got home the day before yesterday. How could you already be married?”

“Elise, I know you don’t really want to marry him. You’re only doing this to hurt me. I’m back now, and I promise I’ll marry you right away. Just tell me none of this is real.”

The usually proud bridal designer looked completely broken, like a man who had lost everything.

Julian believed everyone was lying to him. He refused to accept that any of it was real, and tears kept streaming down his face.

“No! It’s impossible! You can’t fool me. My Elise would never marry another man!”

I looked at the scars on my body and found the entire scene bitterly ironic.

The man standing before me had once told me how much he loved me, yet he had still betrayed me.

“Elise, you have to forgive me. You have to understand.”

“It wasn’t that I didn’t want to marry you first. Mia just needed me more. She can’t be without me.”

He lunged toward me, desperate to pull me into his arms, but Nathan moved behind him and kicked him away before he could reach me.

Julian hit the floor hard, groaning in pain.

“Mr. Mercer, control yourself. This is my wedding to Elise.”

“The woman you failed to cherish has left you. What exactly are you crying about? You did this to yourself.”

“If you hadn’t cheated on her, I never would’ve gotten the chance to marry Elise. I’ll take good care of her

from now on.”

Julian stared at Nathan and me standing together.

He went rigid, his bloodshot eyes filled with conflicting emotions as he looked at me.

“Elise, have you forgotten everything we had? How can you forget our entire past just like that?”

Every memory I shared with Julian had become unbearably painful.

Maybe forgetting was for the best. It was time to begin a new life.

Nathan had his security team drag Julian away and restrain him beyond the doors.

Julian was forced to watch from there as I stood in my wedding gown, exchanged rings with Nathan, recited

my vows, and kissed him.

After the ceremony, we made the rounds at the reception, thanking guests at each table. By then, Julian was outside crying his heart out.

He acted as though he were deeply devoted to me, but every one of us knew it was fake.
