He Deleted My Number After 972 Messages of Love Chapter 26

Being with Ezra came with one very clear realization: he was ridiculously clingy.

He insisted on riding the bus home with me every single day. We were holding hands for around eighty percent of the time we hung out together.

On Friday night, we grabbed dinner before he walked me home. The sky was completely dark by then. When we reached my building, he didn’t leave—he held my wrist, keeping me from going inside.

I sighed. “What is it now?”

He pulled me against his chest, his eyelashes fluttering as he dipped his head down, clearly leaning in for a kiss.

I tensed for a second, bracing my palms against his shoulders—but I didn’t pull away.

Right before our lips could meet, he brushed his mouth against my cheek and pulled me into a hug instead.

“Never mind.”

“If I kiss you right now, I won’t be able to hold myself back after that one kiss.”

I buried my face against his shoulder, my voice muffled. “Why wouldn’t we stop?”

“Kissing you would become totally addictive for me.”

He pulled back, his gaze dropping to my lips, his eyes darkening. “I’d end up kissing you every time you opened your mouth to talk.”

He couldn’t keep the serious tone for two seconds. * It would distract me from keeping up with my schoolwork, honestly. That’s why I want to wait until we graduate to take things further.”

I huffed, stomped his foot playfully.
