He Delayed My Delivery for His Widow’s Son? Meet the Veyron Heiress! Chapter 04

Bianca lost patience quickly.

She sat beside me scrolling through her phone, occasionally looking up at me with the same disgust people saved for filth stuck to the bottom of a shoe.

“Do you know what I never understood?”

“Why were you so desperate to marry into the Rosetti family?”

“Because my brother is handsome? Because our family has money? Or because you thought marrying Nikolai would make you a real Rosetti Donna?”

“Honestly, a woman like you never belonged here.”

I ignored her and kept pressing the points Dr. Hale had mentioned.

I used every ounce of strength I had, even though I knew this tiny method might be useless.

Bianca kept talking. “My brother only married you because you got pregnant first.”

“Back then, we thought, fine, at least you could give the Rosetti family a child. You had some use.”

“Then the ultrasound showed it was a girl.”

“Do you know how ugly Grandfather’s face looked that day?”

She stepped closer and nudged my leg lightly with the tip of her shoe.

“Thank God Isadora is carrying a boy.”

“Otherwise, the Rosetti line would really have been ruined by a useless woman like you.”

I struggled to open my eyes and looked at her.

“Did Nikolai tell you to do this?”

Bianca grinned.

“Of course.”

“He said you were too stubborn to understand gentle words, so he asked me to help you wake up.”

“Once Isadora delivers, you’ll sign the divorce papers, take some money, and get out.”

“Go marry an ordinary man. Have a few ordinary children.”

“Problem solved.”

I wanted to laugh, but I could not even lift the corner of my mouth.

The next second, another contraction slammed into me – the strongest one yet.

The drug could no longer hold it back.

Whether they wanted it or not, my child was coming.

“Ah!”

The pain tore a cry from my throat.

Bianca stepped back in irritation.

“God, you really know how to perform.”

She cracked the door open and shouted outside, “Come in and see whether she’s really giving birth.”

A nurse dragged herself in.

After one glance, her face went white.

“The head is already crowning…”

“But she’s lost too much blood. We have to treat her immediately, or both mother and baby will die!”

Bianca shrugged.

“Then treat her.”

The nurse looked as if she was about to cry.

“We have no equipment, no medication, no blood bags. If we do this like this, they will die…”

Bianca’s voice remained calm.

“Then let them die.”

“The result is about the same anyway. What difference does it make?”

With that, she turned to find Nikolai without even looking back.

The nurse had no choice.

She knelt down and tried to deliver my baby with her bare hands.

But I had no strength left.

I had lost too much blood.

My body was getting colder.

The baby was trapped halfway, and every second felt like being torn open again and again in hell.

Then I heard footsteps.

Heavy.

Urgent.

Many of them.

Combat boots striking tile in perfect rhythm, so sharp and orderly it sent a chill through the air.

The nurse froze. “What is that sound…”

The next second, the door was kicked open.

A team of men in black tactical gear stormed in, their weapons instantly covering every exit in the corridor and the room.

The man leading them ripped off his helmet. His features were hard, his eyes blade-sharp.

But the moment he saw me, his eyes turned red.

“Miss!”

I tried to reach for him, but no sound came out.

The nurse screamed, “Who are you people? This is a Rosetti family hospital! Security!”

The man did not even look at her. He dropped to one knee in front of me, his voice rough and low.

“I’m sorry. I came late.”

The next second, he lifted me into his arms with effortless strength and barked, “Clear the room. Medical team in. Take over now.”

“Yes, sir!”

His men moved instantly.

The nurse tried to run and was pinned straight to the floor.

She screamed, “This is Rosetti family territory! You can’t just break in like this!”

Only then did the man turn his head and look at her coldly.

“The Rosetti family?”

A cruel smile touched his mouth.

“Not for much longer.”
