He Covered for His Fake Innocent Girl, I Sent Both to Prison Chapter 06

Marcus’s face darkened instantly as he took a predatory step closer, dropping his voice to a dangerous whisper.

“Lest you forget,” he sneered, “when your mother was on her deathbed, she personally entrusted me to take care of you.”

My fingers tightened into a rigid fist.

He pressed on, his eyes boring into mine. “And I gave her my word. To ensure I could protect you completely, we signed that adult guardianship agreement, remember? Legally speaking, I am your designated guardian.”

He punctuated every single word with chilling finality. “The moment I sign those involuntary commitment papers, you will be institutionalized.”

I stared at him, a sharp, suffocating pressure squeezing my chest.

His tone suddenly softened, shifting into a sickening display of manufactured patience. “Admit you Valerie. Tell everyone you lost your mind out of anger, and confess that you fabricated

the entire video.”

were wrong,

“Do that, and I might consider making your stay a little easier.”

He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a low purr. “You know exactly what kind of ‘therapy’ goes on behind those closed doors. You know damn well how excruciating shock therapy is.”

Staring at the empty shell of the man in front of me, the last embers of my warmth completely froze

over.

The sacred promise I had cherished for a decade had officially been weaponized into a set of heavy

iron shackles.

I let out a low, mocking scoff.

“Marcus Logan,” I said, my voice steady and cold. “Aren’t you just entirely full of yourself?”

He glared at me, his jaw tightening. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”

I casually raised my phone, my voice dropping into a flat, eerie calm.

“Didn’t you claim you wanted to champion justice? Fine. Let me help you with that.”

I looked him dead in the eye, delivering each word like a hammer blow. “I called 911. Let’s let the police tell everyone exactly who the real criminal is.”

The second the words left my lips, the air in the massive hall seemed to instantly freeze solid.

In the very next second-

“Get her phone!”

Candy’s mother was the first to snap out of the shock, charging up the stage with her teeth gnashed in pure panic. “She’s out of her mind! We cannot let her escalate this!”

A swarm of aggressive relatives lunged forward all at once, their greedy hands clawing through the air to rip the device from my grip.

I cleanly sidestepped the rush, taking a decisive step backward and raising the phone high out of their reach. Staring down at the frantic crowd, my voice remained slow, calculated, and perfectly

unbothered.

“Weren’t you all so desperate to protect Candy? Then consider this me demanding justice on her

behalf.”

I shifted my gaze entirely to Marcus. “Let’s help her drag the real monster out into the light.”

Then, I scanned the sea of horrified faces below the stage. “Weren’t you all screaming that I’m the villain here? Perfect. Let the cops arrest me. Let me face the full punishment I deserve.”

Candy’s face drained of every drop of color instantly. She clutched Marcus’s tuxedo jacket with a white-knuckled grip, burying her entire face into his chest, too terrified to utter another syllable.

Marcus stared at me, his teeth grinding so hard his jaw flexed violently. The remaining light in his eyes died, replaced by a dark, sinister abyss.

After a long, suffocating silence, it was as if he had finally crossed a point of no return.

“Fine,” he said, his voice dropping into a chilling, absolute frost. “You brought this on yourself.”

Hearing this, Candy snapped her head up in absolute panic. “No… Professor Logan… please don’t do this…” she whimpered, her entire body shaking like a leaf. “I don’t want to involve the police… today is our wedding… can’t we just drop it, please?”

She turned her tear-streaked face toward me, her voice breaking into a theatrical whine. “Ms. Vance is only doing this out of jealousy… just kick her out and let it go… don’t let the cops come… I’m

begging you…”

Marcus looked down at her, his eyes swimming with profound, protective heartache. “How can you possibly be this angelic? She literally destroyed your life, and you’re still standing here pleading on her behalf?”

His voice dropped into an icy murmur as he looked back at me. “She doesn’t deserve to breathe the-

same air as you.”

A sharp, mocking laugh escaped my throat.

“Angelic?” I smirked, my eyes locked dead on Candy’s trembling form. “Or is she just absolutely terrified of what the police will uncover the second they start digging?”

“Is she sweating because a real investigation will prove that this entire nightmare… was a performance she scripted herself?”

Candy’s face went an apocalyptic shade of white, her entire body violently swaying as if she were

about to faint.

In the very next heartbeat, she slammed both hands over her abdomen, letting out a sharp, agonized shriek.

“Professor Logan… my stomach hurts so bad… it hurts… oh God, is something wrong with the baby…?!”

Her skin turned a sickly, greenish pale, and her knees buckled as she began sliding down his front.

Marcus’s expression twisted into absolute, blind panic.

“Candy!”

He scooped her up into his arms, his composed demeanor shattering into frantic chaos. “Don’t be scared! I’m getting you to the ER right now!”

He bolted past me like a man possessed, his shoulder cutting through the air, never casting a single glance back in my direction.

I stood perfectly still on the center of the stage, making no move to block his path. I merely watched their retreating figures, a cold, clinical smile touch my lips.

A pathetic, predictable stunt to buy themselves time.

Too bad for them, the clock had already run out. Their reckoning was just getting started.
