He Cheated, So I Drank the Love Potion Myself Chapter 09

Seeing him struggle, the girl burst out laughing.

The boy laughed, too.

The two of them were doubled over, laughing uncontrollably in the middle of the blizzard.

Their laughter was sharp and clean in the cold air.

I couldn’t help but laugh with them, a sudden warmth stinging my eyes.

I lifted my head to look at the aurora.

It was breathtaking.

Ribbons of red light rippled slowly through the night sky, like flowing fire.

I quickly took a few shots.

Then I lowered the camera.

For the rest of the time, I just wanted to watch it with my own eyes.

It was so beautiful.

I suddenly remembered a long time ago, when Reed and I were still living in that tiny apartment, sitting on the floor eating pizza.

I had pointed to a photo of the aurora in a magazine and said that one day, when we had money, we had to go see it together.

Back then, I thought it was something you had to do with someone else.

Now, I was standing here alone, and I was seeing it anyway.

And it was even more beautiful than the picture in the magazine.

In my heart, I said to myself:

“Ophelia, you really love this.”

“Let’s go see more places in the future.”

The aurora didn’t last long.

About ten minutes later, the red slowly faded until it vanished.

My friend leaned over to look at the photos on my camera and gasped.

“Ophelia, you’re way too good. That eye of yours really shouldn’t be wasted on just one man.”

I looked at the captured image of the red sky and smiled.

“It won’t be anymore.”

“From now on, if there’s a beautiful view somewhere, you better call me.”

My friend froze for a second.

Then she slapped my shoulder, hard.

“Thank God.”

“You’re finally done revolving around Reed.”
