Four Childhood Heroes For Her? Fine, I Cut Off The Four Who Betrayed Me Chapter 06

Four Childhood Heroes For Her? Fine, I Cut Off The Four Who Betrayed Me Chapter 06

That’s inpossible!”

The other three childhood friends denied it instantly.

One of them even voiced his suspicion. “Could she be staging this with the professor just to stop Ava from enrolling?”

Even Ava wiped her tears and said, “Ethan, I know Emma holds a grudge against me. She thinks it’s my fault she was left behind in France.”

“But we only did it to help her become independent. She’s twenty-three years old, yet she relies on the four of you for everything. I only wanted what was best for her…”

Ava continued talking, but Ethan didn’t process a single word.

He opened the official missing persons database on his phone.

When he saw my photo posted on the site, listing the date of my disappearance as three months ago, his hand trembled so violently he could barely hold his phone.

Seeing Ethan remain silent while staring at his screen, the others grew frustrated on Ava’s

behalf.

One of them snatched the phone from his hand. “Ethan, what are you doing?”

“Ava is about to lose her chance at school because of Emma’s scheme, and instead of helping, you’re staring at your phone.”

Then their eyes landed on my profile on the missing persons site, and the room went

completely silent.

Someone muttered under his breath, “This must be fake, right? All four of our names are listed as her emergency contacts. If she really disappeared, how could nobody have notified us?”

“Exactly. She’s twenty-three, not three. How could she just vanish?”

“Emma’s tricks are getting more sophisticated. Ava was right, we spoiled her too much.”

“This time, she needs to apologize to Ava in person, or she’ll never learn her lesson!”

They spoke one after another, but not a single word was in my defense.

Listening to them, Ethan felt a chill run down his spine.

He spoke up to remind them, “Emma’s mental state has always been fragile. Even in college, she would get lost easily.”

“Besides, you all saw what happened at the airport that day. She was triggered into a severe panic attack. It’s entirely possible her condition relapsed and she wandered off!”

The three showed brief flashes of guilt, but kept up their defensive posture.

“Then why didn’t the police contact us?”

“Don’t forget, over all these years, our names weren’t just saved as emergency contacts on her phone, they were engraved on the gold locket she carried everywhere…”

Mid-sentence, all three went silent, their eyes shifting toward the gold bracelet on Ava’s wrist.

They realized that three months ago, when they left me alone in France, they had nudged Ethan to take my gold locket away.

They had melted it down to create jewelry for Ava

They had called it tough love, a way to break my psychological dependence and force me to

become normal.

None of them had imagined that this exact action would prevent the police from reaching

them when I vanished.

Even so, they clung to their rationalizations.

“There are other ways to contact us besides the locket. If the police didn’t call, it means Emma

is fine.”

“We should focus on solving Ava’s situation first. The enrollment deadline won’t wait.”

Ethan recalled what my advisor had said during their phone call.

Staring at Ava, who was visibly tense and pale, he uttered every word with cold precision.

“Maybe it wasn’t that the police didn’t call us. Maybe they did, but someone blocked the

numbers and erased the call history.”
