Everyone Wanted Me Dead After Watching One Video Chapter 04

I didn’t manage to leave that night. My mother caught me, and another brutal beating followed. My father wasn’t home, so she went all out, throwing everything she could find at me, cursing all the

while.

“Just die!” she screamed, each word like a hammer blow. “Why won’t you just die?”

She grabbed a book from the shelf, hurled it. “I should’ve never had you! You’re nothing but a

curse!”

Her voice raged on, but the words blurred into noise. Something in my side gave a sick, wet crack I

didn’t flinch. I just stared up at the dark ceiling, empty. Numb. Past hurting. Past feeling anything at

all.

The commotion woke my sisters. They stood beside my mother, looking down at me as she beat me.

Just like before, silent observers. I knew, no matter how I begged them for help, they would ignore

After all these years, I was tired. This time, I didn’t plead or fight back. I stopped struggling and simply accepted the blows.

I murmured softly, “Go ahead, Mom. kill me.”

My words made her hesitate for a split second, but cold indifference quickly masked it again.

In the second before I blacked out, I could hear many chaotic voices.

Harder! That’s right! She should die!

I thought I was finally going to die. For me, death might have been a release.

But when I opened my eyes again, I was in an unfamiliar room, hooked up to numerous tubes and

machines. I wasn’t dead.

I moved my eyes and saw a female police officer sitting beside me. She noticed I was awake and immediately spoke gently. “You’re awake. Don’t worry, you’re safe here. No one will hurt you. I’m Officer Carter. I need to ask you a few questions.”

It turned out this was a hospital arranged by the police for my protection.

I nodded weakly. “How… how did I get here?”

Officer Carter said, “We received a call from your neighbor. We have enough evidence of your

mother’s crimes, and she’s been detained.” She paused and sighed. “We got to you just in time. Any

later, and you wouldn’t have made it.”

i was grateful she saved me. I guess it wasn’t my time to die.

Officer Carter asked me why I had never reported it to the police before.

Thinking of the past, I let out a bitter, self-mocking laugh. “I did. Several times. But I was always

stopped. No one could testify for me. They all… wanted my mother to kill me.”

At first, I’d hoped my grandparents would save me. But after they saw the video, they never came to

our house again, and I lost all contact with them.

Then, there was my boyfriend, Ethan. Same result. After we broke up, I tried to find him again. But he refused to talk about it and eventually moved away.

Finally, I tried to save myself. But that night, I failed to escape.

I told Officer Carter everything that had happened over the years. Her expression shifted from

shock to anger, and she finally let out a heavy sigh.

Before she left, she took my hand and promised, “Don’t worry. I will get justice for you.” She also said that during my mother’s interrogation, she could make an exception and let me watch, so I could see my mother admit her guilt.

A few days later, someone delivered an interrogation recording to me. But its contents were completely different from what Officer Carter had so confidently promised.
