Divorced & Dying The Mafia Boss Regrets Everything Chapter 10

Dominic was certainly no stranger to the Hamptons house.

It was here, on that flora bedspread, that he had been forced to sleep with Grace for the first time.

Dominic blew out a smoke ring, knocked on the door, and waited. No one answered, so he took out his key and let himself in.

But the moment he stepped inside, a powerful sense of emptiness washed over him. He froze, staring at the furniture covered in white sheets.

Even her aunt’s ashes–the thing Grace treasured most–were gone.

Impossible.

Dominic opened his contacts and tapped “Grace.”

[Sorry, the number you have dialed is not in service.]

His heart tightened. He immediately called Henry. While he waited for an answer, he pushed open the bedroom door. Everything was covered, and there was no sign of life.

As soon as the call connected

“Where’s Grace?”

Henry paused for a moment, then said awkwardly, “Mr. Dominic, all of us–including Finnegan–have lost contact with Boss Grace.”

There was silence on the line. Henry hesitated. “…Mr. Dominic?”

Beep, beep, beep…

Henry looked at the dead line and sighed helplessly.

He noticed the divorce certificate sitting on Dominic’s desk. It had been there for a long time.

When Finnegan got Dominic’s call, he was swamped with work and couldn’t help snapping, “So young Master Dominic finally remembers this old man? If you don’t come back soon, you’ll be sending me to my grave early…”

“Finnegan.”

Finnegan said impatiently, “What is it?”

“Where the hell is Grace?”

Finnegan choked. He was already miserable, and now being grilled like this pushed him over the edge. He

shouted, “I don’t know!” and hung up.

Duminic stood motionless in the middle of the living room, letting the cigarette burn down to his fingers. His knuckles reddened, his hand trembled slightly, and he crushed the butt in his palm. He put the incoming call on speaker.

“Mr. Dominic, Miss Sienna is looking for you again. When will you be…”

“Right away.”

Dominic interrupted impatiently. He pushed his disheveled hair back with his burnt fingers, closed his eyes tightly, exhaled, and suppressed the bitterness in his chest.

Grace, you’ve got some nerve.

Sienna saw how distracted he was and felt uneasy. She pressed herself against him to get his attention.

Dominic pulled her into his arms and absently stroked her hair, but his mind was full of the missing Grace.

What could possibly make her stay angry for so long?

Because he made her drink paint? Because he didn’t take her out of the fire?

But in the end, she was fine, wasn’t she?

Was it really that bad?

The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became, and he couldn’t stop. The fury between his brows wouldn’t fade. He ground his back teeth until they went numb.

“Dom…”

“Dom!”

Dominic snapped out of it and focused his gaze on Sienna’s annoyed face. A flicker of impatience rose inside him, but he suppressed it and made his voice calm. “What is it?”

“I said the baby and I want Belgian Liège waffles.”

Dominic nodded absently. “Tell the housekeeper. Someone will buy them tomorrow.”

He didn’t think he’d said anything wrong, but when he saw Sienna bite her lip and start crying, he frowned. “Have I been spoiling you too much?”

The moment the words left his mouth, Sienna went pale. She stopped crying immediately and stiffly tried to wrap her arms around his neck, but he pushed her away.

Dominic was fed up. He stood up, walked out, and drove to the office in the middle of the night.

At that huur, most of the employees were gone. Only a few cleaning ladies were still tidying up.

He had driven with the windows open and felt chilled. He pressed a hand to his pounding temple and made his way to the top floor office

When he saw the contract on the table, his pupils contracted sharply.

He practically lunged for it. Even as he held it, he couldn’t believe his eyes. He flipped through it again and again in disbelief.

What the hell was this?

When had he agreed to divorce Grace?

Finnegan had just finished up when his subordinate told him Dominic was back. He snorted and resolved to give the man a piece of his mind.

But the moment he met those blood red eyes, all the words died in his throat.
