Divorced & Dying The Mafia Boss Regrets Everything Chapter 02

None of the company’s major shareholders—including their associates—believed that Grace Santoro would initiate the divorce.

Back then, she held a gun to Dominic’s head, forcing him to take an oath in front of the family priest, and then forced him to sleep with her.

She was domineering, selfish, and always self-centered, and she would stop at nothing to get what she wanted.

And now this woman, who used to be so full of herself, was telling them she was going to give up Dominic of her own accord.

Was that possible?

No.

Grace twirled the plain ring on her ring finger.

She remembered that every time she saw Dominic, his hands were always empty.

Every time she saw him, she would take it off and force it onto him, and every time, Dominic would throw it away.

By the time they met again, the ring would be gone.

Now, just as he wished.

“Boss.”

The secretary knocked on the door while holding the documents.

“If I leave, would you still want to stay?”

The secretary was stunned.

Grace sat up straight, turned over the photo of her and Dominic on the table, and tapped the surface absentmindedly with her slightly curved fingers.

The company operated in both the legitimate and underworld spheres, and she had always been the one to handle the dirty work, but the staff they shared had long since become indistinguishable from one another—this was one of the few instances of mutual understanding and trust between the two.

Since Grace was leaving, it was highly likely that Sienna would take her place—or perhaps Dominic would be left on his own. She wondered if her secretary and former righthand man would be able to adjust.

But none of that had anything to do with her anymore.

Grace waved her hand dismissively, signaling for them to leave. She leaned back in her chair, rubbed the bridge of her nose, let out a long sigh, and smiled.

Oh well, after all these years, she was finally going to be free.

The next day, Grace arrived at the conference room early and sat idly next to the head of the table.

Elder Finnegan stormed in, pointed at her, and launched into a barrage of questions.

“Grace, you’ve put up with this for so many years—are you only now going to tear everything apart with him?”

“Because of the old patriarch? Isn’t the situation stable now? It’s only natural for an elderly person to have some health issues.”

Finnegan was a longtime colleague who had been with Dominic from the very beginning; while he usually couldn’t stand Grace, he was also the one most opposed to their divorce.

Grace reached for the water beside her and took a sip.

“Nothing, I’m just tired.”

She glanced at her watch. He was never late, but this time he walked through the door three minutes after, with Sienna Reed following close behind.

Grace glanced at him indifferently, unsurprised, and casually asked her secretary to bring in another chair.

Finnegan’s brow was furrowed so tightly he could have crushed a fly between his eyebrows.

No matter how much he disliked Grace, she was still better than Sienna, who was all coy and clung to men like glue.

Before anyone had even taken their seats, several executives exchanged glances, though they didn’t dare be too obvious out of deference to Dominic.

Finnegan couldn’t care less; he had always had a fiery temper and a sharp tongue, and as soon as he snorted, he started making snide remarks. Grace didn’t stop him.

“What’s this? An illegitimate daughter of the Reeds, dressed like some flashy prostitute, actually thinks she’s a phoenix? This isn’t a gynecologist’s office—if you’re itching, turn right when you leave and go see a psychiatrist!”

“Henry, get her out of here!”
