Barren, Betrayed, But Backed By A Secret Billionaire Dad: I’ll Make Them Pay In Blood Chapter 09

“You said she was just a child. That Megan surely didn’t mean any harm. You told me to stop being so harsh and to simply use up one of the chances.”

Yet now, when I had finally used them all, he suddenly couldn’t accept it?

Adwan trembled violently, his whole body shaking. A single tear slid down his cheek and landed on my arm.

“Jelena, must you really treat me this way? You’ll drive me to my death.”

“I told you it was just a game. It doesn’t count! Tear up the divorce agreement right now and let’s pretend nothing happened.”

I laughed, though there was no mirth in it.

All the shocks I had endured, the child I had lost, the dignity that had been trampled again and again—he could never make up for them, not in this lifetime.

And now he dared to say we should act as though nothing had ever happened.

It was absurd.

I stared into his eyes with sheer contempt.

“Adwan, is this some kind of joke?”

“You gave your word. A gentleman keeps his promises. A hundred chances have been used up, and we divorce.”

—

“Those were your terms. So we’re already finished.”

His response was madness. He clutched me tightly, shaking his head furiously.

“No! Who gave you the right to end this on your own? I don’t agree! I’ll never let you go, not in this lifetime!”

I shoved him away in disgust.

“Isn’t this what you wanted? Now you and Megan can do whatever you like. I won’t stand in your way anymore.”

“Do you really think Megan will still enjoy her little pranks once I’m gone?”

Adwan shook his head violently.

“I’m not with Megan the way you think. I only treated her like a child, thought she was innocent and cute, so I indulged her.”

“But now I see the truth. She plotted everything to drive you away. She’s nothing but a vile woman, through and through!”

I blinked, momentarily stunned.

The man who had once been endlessly gentle with Megan was now calling her a vile woman. He must have learned the truth and seen her real face at last.

But it was already too late.

“So what if you’ve seen through Megan? The hurt I suffered won’t lessen by even a fraction. Remember this—I will never forgive you in this lifetime.”

—

My glare was filled with hatred, yet Adwan didn’t retreat. Instead, he lost control, seizing my face and trying to force a kiss.

I struggled desperately. “Let me go, or I’ll call the police!”

Adwan’s eyes burned with madness.

“Go ahead! Call them! I don’t believe you hate me that much. I don’t believe you could be so heartless as to abandon me!”

I bit his lips hard, but he refused to release me.

It wasn’t until Hollis appeared at the doorway that salvation came.

He yanked Adwan up by the collar and threw him to the ground with a heavy punch.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”

Instinctively, I rushed into Hollis’s arms, glaring at Adwan with cold, disgusted eyes.

Adwan staggered up, tongue pressing against his cheek where he’d been hit. When he saw Hollis clearly, his expression twisted with disbelief.

“Who is he?”

“Jelena, answer me!”

But I refused to speak. I didn’t want to explain, didn’t want to waste another word on him.

Hollis gave a faint smirk and led me out of the restroom.

Behind us, Adwan’s hysterical roar echoed: “Jelena! Don’t think

dragging another man in will upset me. You’ll be the one to regret this first!”

After a week of peace, I had fully regained my energy—apart from being bombarded with endless calls from “unknown numbers.”
