As a Sensitive, I Saw Another Woman in My Wolf Mate’s Heart Chapter 09

As a Sensitive, I Saw Another Woman in My Wolf Mate’s Heart Chapter 09

Nova said her former coworker had seen it with her own eyes.

Silas called Lyra into his office.

The door was open, and he spoke in front of the entire Pack.

“Lyra, starting today, you are banished. The paperwork will be completed today.”

Lyra froze. Her eyes turned red instantly, and she asked why.

“You know why.”

Lyra began crying, louder and louder, until the entire office could hear her.

She asked him what the seaside meant.

What that sycamore tree meant.

What that restaurant meant.

She said he had clearly promised to take her to meet his parents.

Silas cut her off.

“Do not appear in front of me again.”

Nova finished telling me and watched my face.

“He really banished her. Ethan Hale said the whole office was shocked.”

“So what?”

“You don’t feel anything?”

“What does his banishing her have to do with me? That’s his Pack, not mine.”

The next day, he came.

He entered and placed a document on my desk.

The banishment notice.

Lyra’s signature was on it, along with the Pack seal.

He stood before me and looked at me eagerly, like a little wolf waiting to be praised for doing something good.

“Raina, I banished her. She won’t appear in front of us again.”

I put down my pen and looked up at him.

“And then?”

All the words he had prepared got stuck in his throat.

“I thought you’d be happy.”

“Silas, the problem was never her.”

“I know the problem is me. I know I was wrong. I’ll change. I’ll do whatever you ask. I’ll let you see my moonstone communicator. I’ll give you every account and password.”

“Do you know when I stopped seeing myself in you? It wasn’t the first time you lied. It was the day you remembered she wanted her coffee with half sugar and forgot that I don’t drink coffee at all. It was the day you gave her our promise under the sycamore tree and came home telling me next year would be the same. It was the day you took her to our restaurant and let her sit in my seat.”

His mouth opened and closed.

“Do you think banishing her means you’ve made a great sacrifice? You push all the blame onto her and think if you drive her away, everything can go back to the way it was. Silas, I never asked you to banish anyone. What I wanted was for your heart to hold only me. Can you do that?”

He was silent.

“You can’t. You don’t even know when you started changing. But I know. I watched your heart go from only me, to half and half, to entirely her. Twenty-one years lost to three months.”

I stood and walked over to open the door.

“Leave. When the agreement period ends, it will automatically take effect. This is where we end.”

He walked to the door and looked back at me.

I had already returned to my desk and picked up my pen.

“Silas, didn’t you always want things to be easier? I’m letting you go.”

The door closed.

My moonstone communicator lit up.

A message from Nova.

[I heard Lyra smashed everything in his office when she left. She shouted, “Silas, may you die badly,” in the office area and slammed the door on her way out.]

I read it and typed:

[It has nothing to do with me.]

I put the communicator down and continued drawing.

After a while, I picked it up again.

[What happened after?]

[What “after”? Didn’t you say it had nothing to do with you?]

[Nova.]

She sent a smiley face.

[After that, security dragged her out. Silas didn’t move the whole time. He sat in his chair looking at the broken glass and didn’t say a word.]

The next day, he posted on Instagram.

The picture was a floor covered in broken glass.

The caption was only a period.

Ethan Hale commented below:

[Alpha, are you okay?]

He did not reply.

Nova sent me the screenshot and asked if I had seen it.

[Saw it.]

[Any thoughts?]

[He broke the glass himself. He can’t blame anyone else.]
