Alpha, You Lost Your Luna Chapter 05

Alpha, You Lost Your Luna Chapter 05

He was busy claiming his Luna.

A few she-wolves suddenly stopped in front of me and slapped a stack of obscene printed booklets and comics onto my lap.

“Princess, take a look. These brand-new releases are all based on you, and they’re selling incredibly well.”

I lowered my eyes for one glance, and everything in front of me went dark.

The woman in the drawings was stripped bare, her eyes and features rendered sultry and lewd. The most painful, most humiliating night of my life had been turned into obscene pictures for other people’s amusement.

I suddenly swept the wineglass and fruit tray beside me onto the floor and screamed myself hoarse, “Get out! All of you, get out!”

The entire venue fell silent in an instant.

Landon rushed over, clamped a hand over my mouth, and hissed through gritted teeth, “Have you lost your mind? Are you trying to get someone killed at the public mate announcement?”

He gripped my jaw, his voice icy. “Behave yourself. If you keep this up, I’ll make you disappear tonight.”

Nora leaned in too, pretending to soothe me. “Princess, please stop. If you keep making trouble, even Alpha won’t be able to protect you…”

Just then, Griffin stepped down from the stage.

“I want to speak with her alone.”

Landon immediately moved in front of me and forced out a strained smile. “Griffin, the ceremony isn’t over yet. The media is still waiting for you and Daphne.”

He was afraid. I was Griffin’s fated mate, and he knew better than anyone how obsessed Griffin’s wolf had once been with me and my wolf.

He was afraid Griffin’s old feelings would come back. Afraid that a single word from me would ruin Daphne’s moment in the spotlight.

I lifted my head and looked at the man I had once tried so desperately to reach, and suddenly I gave a soft little smile.

“Griffin,” I said quietly, “I wish you and her a long, happy life together.”

His whole body went rigid.

But I didn’t have the strength left to say a second sentence.

Sensing something was wrong, Landon grabbed my wheelchair and started pushing me away.

“What else do you want, Violet? Look at you now. You’re nothing but trash, and you still dare dream about being Luna. You still think you can seduce Griffin?”

I was shaking with rage and fought back with everything I had. “I don’t owe Daphne anything, and I don’t owe either of you a damn thing!”

The next second, a sharp crack split the air.

He slapped me hard across the face.

“You ungrateful little thing. I taught you decorum. I had you trained like a proper lady, and now this is how you act, screaming in public like this?!”

I turned my face to the side. My lip split open, and blood welled at the corner of my mouth, but I didn’t say another word.

I had only been pretending to lose my mind, because that was the only way they would feel safe leaving me alone in a room.

That night, the moonlight was cold as frost.

I set fire to the villa where I had been staying and burned it, along with every trace of “Violet” that still remained inside.

The flames shot into the sky, staining half the estate red.

Later, I heard Landon had rushed into the fire with red-rimmed eyes, searching for me like a madman.
