Alpha, You Lost Your Luna Chapter 01

Alpha, You Lost Your Luna Chapter 01

On the night before Winterveil Pack’s Alpha Griffin Cole was set to formally announce his chosen Luna and the date of their Mate Ceremony, I was drugged, blindfolded, and dumped in an abandoned Building Six on the eastern edge of pack territory.

It had once been an underground treatment center that had been shut down long ago. Later, it became a place where certain people hid all kinds of filth.

My hands and feet were tied, and I couldn’t move. All I could hear were the low, ugly snickers of men around me.

They tore off my clothes and yanked at my hair as if I were livestock.

By the time I was rescued, I was covered in blood. Both my arms were broken, and my legs were so badly damaged they were almost useless.

My brother, Landon, lifted me out of that filth in his arms, wrapped me in his own suit jacket, and took me himself to the best Pack hospital in all of Winterveil.

Everyone said Alpha Landon Graves of Thornridge Pack had gone mad for his sister. Griffin Cole was furious too. He ordered a full investigation and sealed Winterveil’s borders.

But in my haze, I heard Griffin lower his voice outside my room and ask, “Landon, I’ve already agreed to make Daphne Kingsley my Second Mate and give her the same authority as a Luna. Why be this cruel to your own sister?”

Landon’s voice was calm to the point of cruelty. “As long as Violet is still carrying the title of future Luna, Daphne will never be able to step into the light.”

“She can bear this much humiliation. I’ll support her for the rest of her life.”

I lay on the hospital bed, unable even to open my eyes, while my heart felt as if it were being torn apart alive.

I had already been defiled by those nameless thugs. Winterveil Pack would never recognize me as Luna now. What future could I possibly have after this?

So that night hadn’t been an accident.

It had been a trap they set for me.

My own brother and my Alpha mate had betrayed me together.

My brother had personally shoved me into hell for Daphne’s sake, and Nora Wilder, the maid I trusted most, had helped him bury the truth.

They pumped me full of sedatives, and I was shaking all over from the pain.

I drifted in and out of consciousness, unable to open my eyes or speak, but I could still hear. I could still feel every bone slipping out of place and every wound being torn open.

Nora stood beside the bed, her voice trembling. “Alpha, are we really not calling a Healer?”

“Princess’s arms are both broken. If we don’t set them now, she may never recover.”

She stood there at my bedside, staring down at me with worry all over her face.

She had grown up with me, then followed me into Winterveil Pack as my personal maid. She was the person I trusted most.

But even in that moment, no matter how urgent her voice sounded, she still couldn’t hide the hesitation in her eyes.

Landon’s expression stayed cold. “No. We can’t call one. Give her more sedative.”

“Her reputation is already ruined. If a Healer examines her now and word gets out about what they see, it’ll only humiliate her even more.”

“Even if she ends up crippled, Winterveil Pack and Thornridge Pack can still support her. But if she loses even that last shred of dignity, she won’t even have the chance to go on living.”

As Nora wiped the sweat from my face, there was even a hint of blame in her tone. “Princess has always been stubborn. If she had stepped aside sooner and stopped competing with Miss Daphne for the Alpha, none of this would’ve happened.”

Landon walked to the bed, tucked the blanket around me, and spoke in the same gentle voice he used when I was little.

“Violet has a fierce streak. I failed to guide her properly as her brother.”

“Once Daphne is publicly acknowledged, no one will ever bully you again.”

They sounded so gentle.

But every word cut into my heart like a knife.

So that night had been their doing.

No wonder I had been drugged, blindfolded, and thrown into East Building Six.

No wonder my bodyguards were gone, and the staff outside my door had suddenly all taken leave.

Every bit of it had been arranged by the people closest to me.

For the sake of the woman he loved, my brother was willing to use me as a stepping stone for Daphne Kingsley.

She wanted my place, so he sent me to hell to clear the way for her.
