Alpha, You Lost Your Luna Chapter 02

Alpha, You Lost Your Luna Chapter 02

And Nora, for his sake, gritted her teeth and said nothing about the horror I went through that night.

Even with the sedatives in my system, the pain was unbearable. It hurt so badly even my wolf was whimpering deep inside me.

I drifted between waking and sleep, unable to open my eyes, unable to speak, unable to move.

But I could still hear. I could still cry. I could still feel that pain tearing straight through me.

I could feel my wolf trying to heal me, trying to force my body to recover, but it had been badly injured in the kidnapping too. It could only struggle inside my shattered body, unable to break free.

At my ear, Nora choked back tears. “Alpha, how can you be this heartless? Both her legs are broken, and you still won’t let me call a Healer…”

My brother wiped the cold sweat from my temple and bent close to murmur in my ear, “Violet only had a nightmare. She still thinks she’s trapped in that building.”

“Her injuries aren’t that serious. Waiting another two days before calling a Healer won’t matter.”

Then he started singing that old lullaby from my childhood.

When I was little and afraid, that was how he used to comfort me.

He said I was his most precious sister, and he would protect me for the rest of my life.

But now both my legs were broken, and he was still telling me I was only dreaming.

I forced my eyes open, looked at that familiar face, and asked in a trembling voice, “Brother… can I still be Luna?”

His expression froze.

That moment of silence told me everything.

I wasn’t dreaming. Everything I’d heard was real.

He gave me a perfunctory smile, like an adult soothing a child. “Violet, don’t be afraid. Your brother will make this right.”

He said he would make it right.

What a joke that promise was.

Our parents had been gone for years. I had only the two of them left.

One was my own brother. The other was my personal maid.

They both said they would take care of me for the rest of my life.

And now one of them had sent me into that place, while the other had covered my mouth and kept me from crying for help.

All because my brother had fallen for Daphne at first sight.

My whole body was covered in wounds, and they wiped away my sweat and coaxed me to sleep in soft voices, acting as if they truly cared.

It was laughable, truly laughable.

All these years, I had worked to master my Luna lessons, forced my way through every Luna trial, and carefully fought for a place in Winterveil Pack and before the Council of Elders. I had swallowed humiliation after humiliation.

And yet all they could see was a single tear from Daphne.

Now, for her sake, they had joined forces to grind me into the dirt, then softly soothe me and tell me everything was fine.

Every wound on my body had been carved into me by their hypocritical show of family affection, one cut at a time.

Hatred burned my eyes red. My thoughts started to blur, and my body went into violent spasms.

Nora cried out, grabbed the medicine cup, and forced the entire dose of sedative down my throat.

I didn’t even have time to fight back. The liquid was icy cold, and the bitterness sank all the way into my bones.

I watched their faces twist and warp before my eyes into snarling ghosts with gaping mouths, crushing my bones and swallowing my soul.

When I woke again, I had no idea how many days had passed.

A gray-white wash of daylight slipped through the gap in the curtains and fell across the cold floor.

I still couldn’t move. My limbs felt as heavy as lead.

Faint voices drifted in from the outer room.

“Alpha, letting those socialite she-wolves who’ve long held grudges against Miss Violet come in… isn’t that too cruel?”

Nora’s voice was trembling, but she still didn’t dare disobey.

Landon answered coolly, “They have to come.”

“What happened to Violet that night can’t be hidden anymore. Sooner or later, the gossip will spread through the whole circle. Rather than let her keep clinging to hopes she should never have, it’s better to cut them off clean.”

“Daphne is about to be publicly acknowledged. We can’t leave any loose ends.”

I lay there with my eyes open as tears slid soundlessly into my hairline.

I had endured it for days. My bones were fractured, my flesh split open, and the blood had dried only for the wounds to fester and rot.

No one had called a Healer.
