Alpha Family Put Their Princess on Trial Chapter 07

Alpha Family Put Their Princess on Trial Chapter 07

Callum looked so sure of himself, so unbearably smug, as the trial continued. He thought he had already won.

The big screen played the memory of the night Tristan drank himself sick and coughed up blood.

No one else was home that night.

The maid had the day off. Evelyn was away on pack business. Callum was out of town too.

It was just me and Natalia in the whole house.

Tristan lay crumpled on the floor, unconscious, barely breathing.

When he woke up the next morning, he was clean, lying in bed. And there beside him sat Natalia — holding a towel, exhausted from staying up all night, watching over him with worried eyes.

He was so moved.

And at the same time, so disgusted with me — the other daughter who had just slept in her room like she didn’t care.

But even then, he didn’t blame me.

He just accepted it. Some children were just born ungrateful. You could never win their loyalty.

But that wasn’t even the worst part.

Not only was I unfilial, he thought.

I secretly hit Natalia too.

He turned around for one second and caught me in the kitchen — pinned Natalia to the floor, slamming my fists into her face over and over.

But Natalia — sweet, innocent Natalia — had only wanted to offer me a Thornwick Lolly.

“Father,” Natalia sobbed, “why did my sister hit me? I just felt so sad and sick watching you suffer. I thought a lolly would make me feel better.”

“So I wanted to give one to Giselle too.”

“But she didn’t want it. That’s fine. So why did she have to hit me? Why?”

Tristan looked at me with burning hatred. “Because she’s evil,” he said coldly. “Rotten to the core.”

Then came his kick.

So hard it knocked the air out of my lungs. I collapsed on the ground, gasping, unable to move.

But even after Tristan punished me, Natalia was still too scared.

That same night, she swallowed a bottle of pills.

In the suicide note she left behind, she wrote that the way I beat her had scarred her too deeply. She didn’t know how to please me anymore.

She was terrified. She thought her very existence had turned me into a monster.

She was willing to die for it. She just wanted everyone to be okay.

Evelyn — who said goodnight to her every single night — found her just in time and rushed her to the hospital.

And after that, my family was so disgusted with me, so done with me, that they decided a mental hospital was too good for me.

The Tribunal of Verdict was a better fit.

They wanted me to confess my crimes in front of everyone. And then pay with my life.

The memory ended there. Callum’s eyes gleamed with triumph.

“Giselle, what do you have to say now?” he said. “You have no morals. You hit people. The truth is — you’re just rotten to the bone.”

“This isn’t the first time you’ve driven Natalia to suicide,” he said. “It’s the third!”

“A monster like you deserves to be put down.”

But The Howl Stream didn’t agree with him.

“I think there’s more to this story.”

“Same. I don’t trust that lying snake Natalia anymore. Let’s see The Logicore prove her wrong again.”

I let out a bitter laugh and closed my eyes.

Callum.

I was never the one who was rotten.

Why won’t you ever believe me?

Sure enough, a moment later, The Logicore proved Callum wrong again.

“After a full comparison of the truth, the charge of harassment against the defendant, Giselle, is once again not established.”

Callum’s jaw dropped.

Before he could argue, the screen lit up again.

Slowly, my memories began to play.

A remote town. A low, crumbling house. Every now and then, a weak cry of pain echoed through the walls.

That cry was mine. But no one ever came.

My foster mother stood in the yard, shouting, “Keep it down! The neighbors can hear you!”

My foster father snapped, “Shut up. If you behave, I’ll give you a lolly. If not — I’ll kill you.”

But I didn’t want a lolly.

I just wanted to live.

To stand on my own two feet. To be a person.

But I couldn’t.

I really couldn’t.

The day I was brought back to Ghostpine Pack — God, I was so happy.

I thought someone would finally listen. Someone would finally save me. My new family seemed so good.

A wonderful father. A wonderful mother. A brother. A sweet, kind little sister.

I almost told them everything. But then I ruined the rug in my new bedroom — and all my courage shattered.

After that, I never got another chance to speak.

That was when I realized my new home wasn’t heaven.

It was just another hell.
