Alpha Family Put Their Princess on Trial Chapter 01

Alpha Family Put Their Princess on Trial Chapter 01

The day after the fake heiress Natalia was hospitalized for her suicide attempt, my family sent me to the Tribunal of Verdict.

I was raised up high in the center of the tribunal hall. It wasn’t cold, but I was freezing from the inside out.

Cold cuffs locked around my wrists and ankles, making me tremble uncontrollably.

I struggled, frantic and terrified.

But it was no use.

My parents and brother stood at the plaintiff’s table, staring at me with icy expressions.

No pity at all.

Like I was already a corpse. A filthy, worthless carcass.

This was a public tribunal for the entire pack. The judge was The Logicore — the most just and impartial intelligence in all of Lycania.

The trial was broadcast live through The Great Scrying, and millions of viewers from countless channels would serve as The Collective Jury, witnessing my death.

A few minutes before the trial began, my Alpha father, Tristan Drake, walked up to me with a letter in his hand.

“Giselle Reed, I’m asking you one last time,” he said.

Something inside me froze solid and died. He didn’t call me Giselle Drake. He called me Giselle Reed.

“Wow, our Alpha father doesn’t want us anymore,” my wolf, Lilian, sneered coldly inside me. I felt a tearing pain in my chest.

“Don’t cry, Giselle. They don’t deserve your tears, your love, or your kindness,” my wolf comforted me from within my mind, trying to give me strength.

“Were you the one bullying Natalia all along?”

My father stared at me coldly, the rage barely leashed behind his eyes.

“If you admit that you bullied Natalia, turn yourself in at the Pack Constabulary of Silvermoon, and publicly confess to the pack through The Great Scrying that you’re a rotten seed, I might still spare your life.”

“If not, then just wait to be put down.”

I knew this was the last chance my father was giving me.

But I really hadn’t bullied Natalia.

She was the apple of their eye, the treasure they held closest to their hearts. I avoided her, I tried to please her — I never had time to do anything else.

How could I ever bully her?

Desperately, I said, “Father, I really didn’t.”

When he didn’t hear the answer he wanted, my father viciously flung the letter into my face.

“Still lying,” he growled. “Natalia said it in her suicide note — it was you, you rotten seed, secretly bullying her all along.”

“She couldn’t take it anymore, that’s why she tried to end her life. If I’d known you were this despicable, I never would have brought you back. I should have let you rot to death in that feral den.”

Something stabbed straight through my chest.

Yeah.

If I’d known coming back would be like this.

I should have rotted in that hellhole until there was nothing left of me.

My mother, Evelyn, — the Luna of Ghostpine Pack — standing behind my father, couldn’t hold back any longer. She stepped forward and slapped me hard across the face.

It was a rough, violent motion — something she, always so gentle, had never done before.

It seemed she truly hated me to the core. And loved Natalia just as deeply.

“Giselle, you are trash. Absolute garbage,” she spat.

“Have you forgotten? Natalia liked you so much back then. The day we brought you home, she even made you a cake with her own hands — nearly burned herself doing it.”

“She was so kind, and you tried again and again to destroy her.”

“You deserve to burn in hell for this.”

Made me a cake with her own hands?

Oh, Mother.

You don’t know. That cake was the beginning of my nightmare.

I couldn’t hold it in anymore. The injustice. The pain. It all came flooding out. A tear slipped from the corner of my eye.

But instead of pity, my tears only made them loathe me more.

My brother, Callum Drake, walked up to me and unceremoniously slapped me twice across the face.

“You lying little brat,” he snarled. “Keep playing dumb. Since you won’t admit it, let the tribunal handle it. Just wait to be put down!”

Callum would have died for his sister. Without a second thought.

His sister being Natalia, of course.

Because of Natalia, he had hated me for a long time. So those two slaps came with his full force.

My lip split open. Blood dripped down my chin. The world spun around me.

My parents stood coldly to the side, making no move to stop him.

Seeing the blood streaming from my mouth, my mother only looked more disgusted.
