After I Chose to Die, They All Regretted It Chapter 03

When I pushed open the main door of the Grayson estate, the first thing I saw was Lydia in the fireplace hall, surrounded like a princess.

Victor looked grim. He raised his hand and punched Caleb hard on the shoulder.

“Lydia couldn’t eat or sleep for three whole days because of you. Caleb, how exactly have you been taking care of her?”

Lydia quickly held him back.

“Victor, I’m really fine now.”

I stood at the door and quietly watched their sweet little family moment.

The system’s voice suddenly sounded in my mind.

[Host, your emotional fluctuations have dropped.]

[So, Host, are you very sad right now?]

That one question almost made me cry.

I quickly wiped the wetness from the corner of my eyes.

Leon had just reached my side when Lydia screamed and rushed over.

“Leon, why are you so badly hurt? You…”

She did not finish.

I stepped forward and slapped her hard across the face.

The sharp sound cracked through the room.

Lydia covered half her swollen face and stared at me in disbelief.

Almost at the same time, a heavy slap landed on my face and knocked me to the floor.

Victor pointed at me, his face full of rage.

“Ivy Grayson! We really spoiled you too much! Apologize to Lydia!”

I lay on the floor in a mess and spat blood from my mouth.

“I apologize?”

“I got married this morning and had it annulled the same day. I became a joke in New York high society, and I’m not even allowed to slap the other woman?”

Victor grew even angrier. His voice shot up.

“What kind of crazy nonsense is that? Lydia and Caleb were supposed to be together. You’re the one who forced your way in!”

“How do I have such a shameless sister?”

I laughed.

“Shameless?”

“Caleb was my fiancé. Since we were kids, the engagement between our families was always between him and me. Now I’m the one who forced my way in?”

Caleb looked at me coldly.

“Our engagement should have been canceled long ago. The Moretti family won’t accept a woman with a ruined reputation.”

He once stepped in front of me with a cold face if someone looked at me for even one second too long.

Now, he was the one who pushed me into becoming the joke of New York.

Married in the morning.

Divorced by night.

What a joke.

Nolan stepped forward and dragged me up from the floor.

“Ivy, apologize.”

I said nothing.

My gaze swept across the people in front of me.

Victor was cold.

Nolan was disgusted.

Caleb looked as if he wished I would disappear right now.

Leon frowned. His lips moved, but in the end, he said nothing.

In the past, whenever I was wronged, he would always be the first to stand up for me.

Now, he stood in the crowd and couldn’t even spare half a sentence for me.

Just like a year ago.

Lydia kept going in and out of Leon’s film sets and was photographed by the media.

To protect her, Leon admitted in a public interview that she was Miss Grayson.

And I, the real Grayson by blood, became “some rich man’s kept girl” and “a pathetic little tagalong.”

Exhaustion flooded over me.

I did not even have the energy to argue anymore.

I shook off Nolan’s hand, rushed into the fireplace hall, and grabbed a fruit knife from the food table.

Leon rushed toward me in terror, but Lydia grabbed his arm tightly.

“Ivy, what are you doing?”

I looked at Lydia and grinned.

“I’m apologizing.”

I did not look again at Victor, Nolan, and Caleb, who were staring at me like I was a threat.

I raised my hand and drove the knife cleanly into my chest.

Screams erupted one after another.

I smiled through my tears.

“Then I’ll pay her with my life.”

“Is that enough?”

“Are you happy now?”
