After 28 Lockouts, I Finally Locked Him Out Chapter 23

Because of it, Eleanor fought with him every day, screaming that he had ruined everything.

He also said he only now understood that for the past five years, the person who had truly looked out for him had always been me.

I had checked his homework and arranged his holiday activities. Once, when he broke a neighbor’s window playing ball, I had quietly paid for the damages.

“Dad drinks every day now,” he wrote at the end. “When he gets drunk, he yells at me and says I destroyed our family. Clara, I know I was wrong. Can you and Maya come back? I promise I’ll never make you angry again.”

I read it and forwarded the email to my lawyer without a word.

Half an hour later, my lawyer sent me a copy of his reply.

The email to Leo contained only one sentence.

“Ms. Clara wishes you all the best and asks that you do not contact her again.”

The day before signing the last document, my lawyer called to convey one final request from Julian’s side.

“Opposing counsel says Mr. Westwood is willing to waive all disputes over marital property. But he hopes to retain regular visitation rights with Maya.”

I was quiet for a few seconds. Then I said to the lawyer,

“Please send him a list for me.”

Half an hour later, Julian’s lawyer received an email.

There was no emotion in the body of the message, no accusation. There was only an attachment.
