After 28 Lockouts, I Finally Locked Him Out Chapter 11

he asked.

Maya shook her head desperately, tears already filling her eyes.

“No. Leo tore up my paintings first…”

“Why would he tear up your paintings?” Julian interrupted, frowning. “Maya, I taught you not to lie.”

Maya burst into tears and threw herself into my arms.

“Mom, I’m not lying… I’m really not…”

“I know.” I patted her back.

Julian looked at me, his face a mask of disappointment and anger.

“This is how you teach a child? Clara, apologize to Eleanor and Leo.”

“Never.”

I stood up straight, one arm around Maya, the other pulling up the handle of the suitcase.

Julian’s expression shifted.

“What are you doing?”

I looked at him.

Those eyes were once the place I thought I would be safest.

Now I finally knew that had only ever been a fantasy.

“Julian, when I said divorce, I meant it.”

“My lawyer will handle everything else. Until you sign.”

With that, I pulled the suitcase and led Maya toward the door.

At the doorway, I paused without turning back.

“Before you keep accusing me, you might want to check the living room security footage.”

I could feel both Eleanor and Leo stiffen behind me.

Then I added,

“And pull the backend access logs for the trust server from the last six months.”

After that, I opened the door and walked out.
