Addicted to Captive Love The Mafia Godfather’s Substitute Heiress Chapter 09

Celandine’s POV

The sea breeze swept past us.

Thierry’s breathing suddenly turned ragged.

In the next second, his kiss crashed over me like a tidal wave.

Our lips and tongues tangled, impossible to separate.

Thierry was like a wolf that had been starving for too long.

He kissed me again and again, his lips moving against mine with a desperate kind of madness before he bit down on my lower lip.

One of his hands cupped the back of my head, while the other locked tight around my waist.

Our chests pressed together, heartbeat against heartbeat.

Halfway through the kiss, he suddenly stopped.

His forehead rested against mine, and his breath was hot and uneven.

“Wait.”

He pulled a pill bottle from his pocket, twisted off the cap, shook two tablets into his palm, and swallowed them dry.

I stared at him in a daze.

He explained, “It’s the new medication. Before it kicks in, I’m afraid I’ll lose control. Last month, I forgot to take it once and almost strangled one of my men.”

I pressed my lips together, the tips of my ears burning.

Then he kissed me again.

I had no idea how long we stayed like that, until footsteps sounded behind us.

Casimir’s lazy voice drifted over.

“Thierry, take it easy. Don’t kiss our Principessa senseless.”

My face went hot in an instant, and I struggled out of Thierry’s arms.

Biting my lip, I whispered, “Why are all of you here?”

Not far behind them stood four fully armed family bodyguards.

Jovan grinned. “The whole family’s Principessa went missing. Of course we had to bring her back.”

He looked me up and down. “I knew it. You don’t look anything like us.”

I shot him a reproachful look. “How do I not look like you?”

Briony stepped out from behind Jovan and rolled her eyes at him.

Then she shot Thierry a resentful look and muttered, “How are you this lucky?”

She took my hand and said seriously, “Celandine, I really like you. I never once wanted to replace you.”

I smiled at her shyly, finally understanding that I had been the one misunderstanding her all along.

Papa and Madre followed close behind them.

Madre pulled me into her arms, then held my face in both hands.

“Celandine, I was the one who didn’t think this through.”

“We only wanted to tell you at the party that we had always known you liked Thierry. So we thought, why not let you marry him? Having you as our daughter-in-law would be wonderful too.”

“But why should we force you to choose between being our daughter and being our daughter-in-law?”

“Celandine can still be my daughter, and that little bastard can be my son-in-law.”

Thierry stood behind me and said quietly, “Exactly.”

My face turned even redder.

Papa smiled and teased, “Principessa, if you ever want to kidnap Thierry again, feel free. Aside from meetings, you can lock him up whenever you like. Just don’t use the custom restraints we developed in collaboration with the Corleone family again. Those things are rough on the wrists.”

The whole family laughed.

Jovan laughed the loudest.

Even the corner of Casimir’s mouth curved slightly.

Jovan thought for a moment. “Or you can pretend you don’t know anything. We’ll let Thierry out first, then lock him back up before you come home.”

Madre gave him a fond scolding. “Enough. Stop teasing our Principessa. Let’s go to dinner. The restaurant has been cleared out tonight, and everyone there is ours.”

The sea breeze blew in, carrying the salty scent of the ocean.

Thierry stepped forward, gently took my hand, and pressed a kiss to it.

He looked at me with reverence in his eyes.

“Hello, my future wife, Madre Wynn.”
