A Gift for the Don: I Aborted His True Love’s Heirs Chapter 08

Julian was always waiting for me.

So when I finally opened my eyes after the procedure, he was there.

This time, I wasn’t blind to it. I could finally see the depth of his love, clear as day.

A week ago, I accepted Julian’s proposal. He treats me well. And I’m willing to trust him.

Damian laughed like he’d heard the most absurd joke in the world.

“Audrey Santoro, our marriage isn’t even dissolved yet and you’ve already chosen a partner?”

“Actually, we’re already divorced.”

It was finalized a month ago.

The night Damian left for Las Vegas, I handed him a stack of documents to sign. The divorce papers were tucked inside.

So Damian and I were already severed. Completely.

He stared at me in disbelief. His eyes slowly filled with blood.

“I don’t accept this! I never agreed to it! How dare you end our marriage without my consent?!”

I had no interest in fighting with him anymore.

“The divorce papers should have already been delivered to the Falcone legal office. From now on, we go our separate ways.”

“We’re done.”

Hearing me draw such an absolute line, Damian clenched his fists.
His voice trembled.

“Audrey, I’m sorry. I apologize. I know I was wrong. The lies about the children. Deceiving you. All of it was my fault. I’ll make it up to you. I swear it.”

“Whatever you want. Punish me however you see fit. I’ll accept it. Please.”

And then, suddenly, he dropped to his knees in front of me.

The almighty Don, in front of everyone, began slapping his own face with savage force.

“I’m a bastard. I’ve done too many unforgivable things.”

“But Audrey, please believe me. I never wanted a divorce. Forgive me. Give me one more chance. I’m begging you.”

I watched coldly.

Julian’s voice was dripping with contempt.

“You had your private doctor drug her on your honeymoon. Had another woman’s embryos planted inside her without her consent. Put her through seven months of hell, only for her to find out those babies she was carrying were nothing but bone marrow donors for you and Nina.”

“And you’ve got the balls to stand here and beg for forgiveness? If I were you, I would’ve jumped off a building by now.”

“A man like you doesn’t deserve her love. Let alone her forgiveness.”

“Get lost!”

Rage twisted across Damian’s face. He turned and fixed Julian with a dark, terrifying glare.

“This is between Audrey and me. You’re nothing but an outsider—you don’t get to interfere.”

Julian sneered. “Audrey is my fiancée now. You’re the outsider.”

Damian couldn’t take the provocation. He lunged at Julian, raising his gun.

Julian didn’t flinch. He’d been aching to tear Damian apart for a long time.

But I didn’t want to see him get hurt because of me.

“Enough!”

I turned to Damian. “We’re done. Stay away from me.”

I took Julian’s arm and turned to leave, but Damian grabbed me with desperate force.

“Don’t go, Audrey.”

The moment he touched me, a shudder of terror shot through my body. I couldn’t stop myself from trembling.

Julian noticed instantly. He kicked Damian away with brutal force.

“I said, don’t touch her!”

Damian scrambled up from the ground. His eyes were wild and bloodshot. He lunged at Julian again.

But he was no match for Julian. Julian had grown up in the Sorrento family’s underground training rings. Damian had lived a life of luxury for years.

Soon, Damian’s face was covered in blood. But he didn’t stop. He swung his fists like a crazed, feral wolf.

Panic seized me. Instinct drove me forward to shield Julian.

“Audrey!”

Damian’s fist grazed Julian’s shoulder, but Julian spun and slammed Damian hard into the ground.
