The Villainess Gets Her Way Chapter 01

The Villainess Gets Her Way Chapter 01

The system appeared the moment I slapped Lucian.

It showed up to stop me by force-feeding me the plot.

It said this was a novel world.

My missing fiancé — Charles, heir to another powerful family — was the male lead.

The female lead was some random nobody from the middle of nowhere.

And I was the villainess of this world.

Charles would lose his memory after the fall. He’d grow close to the female lead, fall for her, and when he got his memory back, he’d bring her back to our family’s turf.

He’d break off our engagement and marry her instead.

The system said, “You’ll be eaten alive by jealousy. You’ll trip her up at every turn, and in the end, the male lead will despise you.”

“In the end, you’ll fall into the hands of the two men who hate your guts — your fiancé’s right-hand men. They’ll give you back every single thing you ever did to them.”

“You’ll be tortured until you go mad. Then you’ll bash your own head in.”

I held my head in my hands, stunned into silence.

A fire was burning in my chest, but I didn’t even know where to start.

Lucian knelt in front of me, a bright red handprint stamped across his face.

He looked up at me, confused.

He couldn’t figure out why I’d slapped him and then just frozen.

Normally, I’d be screaming in his face for at least half an hour, hitting and cursing the whole time.

Charles had two trusted men. Lucian was one of them.

The day he fell, the three of them were traveling together.

Word was, another family set up an ambush.

In the end, Charles went over the cliff. Only Sebastian and Lucian came back.

They were drowning in guilt.

They thought Charles’s disappearance was their fault.

And so was the ruined wedding.

They swore they’d take care of me until Charles was found.

Even if I took all my anger out on them.

Even if I ordered them around, humiliated them, slapped them around.

They didn’t dare to talk back.
