The Villainess Gets Her Way Chapter 03

The Villainess Gets Her Way Chapter 03

The system said, “I literally told you what’s going to happen in the future. Why are you still going after the male lead’s men?”

“Lucian looks harmless and quiet, but he’s calculated. He holds grudges like nobody’s business.”

“He’s the one who’ll call the shots when they drive you insane.”

I said, “He owes me.”

The system sighed. “But Charles’s fall wasn’t their fault. The plot had to happen.”

Of course I thought it was their fault.

Charles and I had been engaged since we were kids.

Because of his family’s turf wars and business deals, we’d already pushed the wedding back two years.

He was finally coming home. We were supposed to get married.

I’d waited so long.

I’d even let him run off every single one of my lovers. Locked them down, sent them packing, all because he couldn’t stand sharing.

And then that golden goose flew right off a cliff.

I had every right to be angry.

They had a hand in it too, so why shouldn’t I take it out on them?

Either all three of them come back, or all three of them die out there.

But only Charles got hurt? It made the man I was supposed to marry look pathetic.

Truth be told, I didn’t trust the system. Not one bit.

Some strange thing showed up in my head, fed me a story, and expected me to fall in line like a good little puppet?

The plot it fed me was close enough, but the details were all wrong.

For example, it said Charles didn’t actually like me. That he only went along with the engagement because my family’s head pressured his.

If he didn’t like me, why’d he chase off all my lovers?

If he didn’t like me, why’d he stick to me like a bad smell?

If it weren’t for the fact that we grew up together, I’d have found some other heir who’d tolerate my affairs and kept a whole stable of men on the side.

Not some jealous, controlling, useless piece of garbage.

So yeah. I didn’t believe a word this thing said.

I snapped, “And you! You show up out of nowhere, dump all this garbage in my head without asking, and ruin my whole day. You owe me too.”

The system didn’t see that coming.

It whimpered, “I’m trying to help you! I’m a system for saving villainesses. All you have to do is tweak your attitude. Pull back a little. And you’ll avoid the whole ugly ending.”

I shot back, “If you can show me the plot, why can’t you just solve the problem for me? Either go kill Charles, or go drag him back. Then I wouldn’t have to worry about any of this.”

“Bottom line, you’re useless too. You can’t fix anything. All you can do is point the finger at me. If you really wanted to save me, you’d go kill the male and female leads.”

“What good does telling me all this crap do? I’m not changing.”

The system went dead silent.

I thought I heard something break.

A tiny, electronic heart.

I didn’t care.

“If they’re a threat to me, I’ll just have them killed.”

“Everyone dies, problem solved.”
