The Alpha Who Killed Me Now Calls Me Mother Chapter 08 Exile And The Truth

After Ashton yanked me, my abdomen tightened with a mild cramp deep in my womb.

Craig said nothing. He took me directly to the private hospital that served Mooncrest Court.

He remained cold and unreadable throughout the drive. The physician was Mooncrest Court’s chief obstetrician, with decades of experience.

When the examination ended, the doctor came from the consultation room smiling, a follow-up ultrasound report in hand. “Congratulations, Your Majesty. The scan confirms twins.” Craig stood motionless for several seconds before taking the report and studying every word.

“The scan shows two separate gestational sacs and two placentas. That makes fraternal twins the most likely explanation…” He lowered his head with a smile, then folded me tightly into his arms.

A faint tremor ran through his voice. “Evelyn, you have brought true honor to Mooncrest Court.”

I rested against him and teased gently, “Does all that honor come with a reward?”

Craig raised an eyebrow and drew a stack of signed transfer documents from the leather folder beside him. “Frostmere Pack offered this crystal mine as tribute. It belongs to you now. Consider it a small token of my gratitude.”

For a moment, I could not think of anything to say.

It was Frostmere Pack’s richest vein of lunar crystal, yet Craig had transferred the entire mine into my name without hesitation.

My nose stung, and tears nearly filled my eyes.

Even in my previous life, Craig had never treated me cruelly.

While he lived, he never allowed Ashton to run wild. Everything had fallen apart only after Craig died on the battlefield.

“My king,” I murmured, winding my arms around his solid waist. “Last night I dreamed someone betrayed you during the war and left you to die on the battlefield.” I looked into his eyes. “From now on, you have to examine every person around you and take precautions before every battle.”

Craig laughed. “I am the Alpha King. Do you really think I need that reminder?”

I frowned. “Ignore me, and I’ll cancel your entire schedule and keep you inside.”

He rubbed my hair and finally yielded.

“All right. Listening to my Luna has never done me any harm.”

I smiled. Ashton’s plan to wait two years for Craig’s death and then inherit the throne would never succeed.

After the follow-up scan indicated I was most likely carrying fraternal twins, Craig ordered Ashton moved

om the basement to a pack at the frontier, supposedly so he could calm down under observation In reality, it was a quiet exile.

I reminded him to send Jane along. If their love had been so passionate in our previous life, they deserved to share both happiness and hardship in this one.

Craig agreed without hesitation.

Life deteriorated quickly for Ashton and Jane at the frontier pack. Ashton had been arrogant and spoiled since childhood, leaving him almost useless in the daily work of an outlying territory.

Craig expressly forbade anyone from helping him.

From there, everything collapsed. Ashton spent his days drinking and gambling. Whenever something went wrong, Jane became the target for his rage.

At first, she kept performing the role of a gentle, obedient mate. She submitted to every demand and gave him whatever he wanted.

Her patience wore away with time. Then Ashton discovered something: in both his past life and this one, the drugging had never been accidental.

He had always assumed I planned it. In his version of events, I had drugged and seduced him because I would do anything to become Luna.

But when he obtained the records of the underground supplier, the name on the order stunned him. It was Jane.

“You insane bitch. Were you the one who drugged me at the banquet?” he roared.

Jane showed no remorse.

She sank her teeth into his arm and laughed coldly. “What else was I supposed to do? You claimed you loved me, but you kept refusing to form a mate bond. I only helped you act on your own wishes. You said you wanted me as your Luna, so why shouldn’t I have drugged you?”

Ashton’s features twisted with violent fury.

All this time, he had cast me as the scheming woman who ruined his life and drove his first love to her death.

The truth was that the woman he believed he loved had trampled his boundaries and played him for a fool.

He shoved Jane away through clenched teeth. “You disgust me. This is all your fault. Every last part of it. You were the one manipulating me from the beginning” He turned and stormed out without another

word.
