You Trusted Her. Now Live as Me Chapter 07

Sienna’s face went blank when Gavin rejected her without the slightest hesitation.

She knew she was finished.

Then, with nothing left to lose, she burst into wild laughter.

“So what if I go to prison? Gavin Whitmore, you were born with everything, and I still played you like a puppet!”

“You want revenge for that old woman? Ha! If you hadn’t indulged me all this time, would she ever have ended up like this?”

“You think punishing me will erase your guilt? Don’t be naive. You don’t understand women. Once a woman’s heart dies, nothing you do can bring it back!”

“I can go to prison, but you won’t ever get to live in peace either!”

The more Gavin listened, the tighter panic coiled in his chest.

Nora Bennett had already left. What if she really never forgave him?

The thought ripped through him.

Gavin fled the police station almost as if he were escaping something.

Outside, he bent forward, breathing hard.

“Do whatever it takes. I want Sienna Blake in prison for the rest of her life. I don’t ever want her to see daylight again.”

Daniel nodded.

“Yes, sir.”

Gavin looked at him, his expression complicated.

“Tell my parents I’m done being the head of Whitmore Holdings. I’m done being the Whitmore heir

too.”

“If they want to control me for the rest of my life, then I’m cutting ties with the Whitmore family.”

Daniel, normally impossible to rattle, looked shocked.

“Mr. Whitmore, please don’t make a decision out of anger.”

Gavin raised a hand.

“I’ve decided. No one is changing my mind.”

Hope stirred in him again.

Nora had suffered so much because of him.

So he would give up everything he’d had before.

He would start over from nothing with her.

They could live as an ordinary couple.

No one deliberately getting close to him for his money. No suffocating family power struggles.

Just him and her.

At the thought, Gavin couldn’t stop himself from smiling.

He immediately booked a flight to the airport nearest Silverbrook.

Early the next morning, Gavin arrived at my house, exhausted from the trip.

Grandma was watering the flowers she’d just planted.

She looked surprised to see him.

“Gavin, what are you doing here? Didn’t you and Nora get divorced?”

Gavin pulled out the divorce papers I’d left him. He still hadn’t signed it.

Then he shook his head firmly.

“Grandma, I love Nora. I’m not agreeing to a divorce.”

“Where is she? She still misunderstands me. I want to talk to her properly.”

Seeing how determined he was, Grandma sighed.

“Nora’s at the café. Go ahead.”

Gavin rushed toward the café, thrilled.

But the moment he pushed open the door, the scene in front of him stopped him cold.
