You Trusted Her. Now Live as Me Chapter 04

Gavin immediately tried to deny it.

“Impossible. Sienna isn’t…”

But before he could finish, uncertainty crept into his expression.

After a long silence, he touched his stomach.

“Whether you’re telling the truth or not, I’ll protect our child.”

I smiled without much feeling.

“I hope you do.”

Over the next month, I stayed busy preparing for Grandma’s surgery.

Sienna kept messaging me.

Either her wound hurt, or she’d found a mouse in her house.

I never went to see her.

Finally, Grandma’s surgery was completed successfully.

A few days later, Sienna sent me a disturbing photo.

“Mr. Whitmore, I suddenly got dizzy and fell. Could this be some kind of complication? I’m so scared.”

While there was still a chance to stop things from going too far, I decided to try to talk her out of it.

When I reached her house, no one was there.

I had just turned to leave when a wave of dizziness hit me.

When I woke up, there were twenty-eight missed calls on my phone.

I opened the security footage from the cameras I’d installed in advance.

Gavin was trapped and unable to leave.

“Sienna, have you lost your mind? What happened to you?”

Sienna forced him into the same nightmare I’d once endured.

“You old woman. You think you can use that child to compete with me for his attention? Dream on. The position of Mrs. Whitmore belongs to me!”

Not long after, Gavin was barely able to respond.

By the time I rushed to the hospital, Gavin was lying weakly in bed.

“For those three hours, I finally understood what you went through in the previous timeline.”

“I’m sorry…”

He covered his face and sobbed.

I couldn’t bring myself to comfort him.

I only handed him the security footage.

Gavin was shattered.

“I’ll make her pay for what she did to my child!!”

That night, Sienna dropped to her knees in front of me, disheveled and desperate.

“Mr. Whitmore, Mrs. Whitmore called the police and accused me of hurting her, but I really didn’t! That video has to be some AI-generated fake!”

“You have to save me!”

I looked at her coldly.

“The police can determine whether it’s real or fake. Telling me won’t change anything.”

In the darkness, I didn’t notice the vicious glint that flashed through Sienna’s eyes.

The next day, I went to see Gavin.

Grandma was there too.

She secretly wiped away tears as she watched Gavin curled in on himself, instinctively protecting his body.

I had just walked over when frantic footsteps sounded outside the room.

Sienna charged toward Gavin.

“This is all your fault! I planned everything for so long, and now I’m a joke because of you. You even want to send me to prison. This is all because of you!”

“Nora!” Grandma instinctively moved to shield Gavin.

“Grandma!” I lunged in front of her before security could stop her.

Gavin startled awake and tried to shove Sienna away.

But Sienna had completely lost control.

“Get out of my way!”

The commotion drew hospital security.

As my consciousness faded, the last thing I heard was Grandma calling my name.

“Nora… Nora…”

When I woke again, Grandma was sitting beside my hospital bed.

To my shock, Gavin and I had switched back into our own bodies.

Ignoring Grandma’s confusion, I immediately checked myself out, hired an attorney to prepare the divorce papers, and asked a nurse to deliver it to Gavin.

I’d already made preparations before this and secured part of the assets in my own name.

Then I took Grandma and left the city without looking back.

…

When Gavin woke and saw the worried faces of Richard and Margaret Whitmore, he knew we’d switched back.

After watching Sienna hurt Nora Bennett, he could no longer deny that he had loved her all along.

She had suffered so much.

He finally understood how much his blind trust in Sienna had cost Nora in the previous timeline.

He had failed her completely .

It was all Sienna’s fault. He had only been fooled by her.

He comforted himself with that thought, then silently swore he would spend the rest of his life making it up to Nora.

Gavin opened his mouth, his voice painfully hoarse.

“Mother, where’s Nora?”

Margaret stamped her foot in frustration.

“You foolish boy. You’re hurt this badly and you’re still worried about her? She already ran off. She only left this.”

Gavin took the document from her, and every expression vanished from his face.

“She… wants to divorce me?”
