He Asked Me to Divorce Her 19 Times, I Asked Him to Wait Till I Die Chapter 07

Someone grabbed a cup and tried to throw it at Lesly, shouting’ furiously, “My parents got divorced because of a shameless slut like you! I hate mistresses more than anything in this world! I’ll beat every single one I see!”

Chaos erupted across the venue.

Lesly was hit on the head and screamed, bursting into tears. Gideon instinctively shielded her.

Lesly yelled, “Gideon! Make her leave! Get her out of here now!”

Gideon held Lesly tight and roared at me, “Aubrielle! Are you happy now? Do you have any idea she’s pregnant?”

Gideon looked at me in breakdown, but the moment he saw the person behind me, he let go of Lesly

and stared in utter disbelief.

“Honey.” Lesly reached for Gideon again.

The person behind me stepped forward with a cold smile, walked straight to Gideon, and slapped him hard across the face. “You fool.”

She raised her hand to strike again. Lesly suddenly shoved her hard and shouted, “What gives you the right to hit him?”

“Lesly!” Gideon practically screamed.

Lesly froze. The woman slapped Lesly across the face and let out a cold laugh. “What gives me the right?”

She gestured, and several guards rushed forward to seize Lesly. Lesly struggled wildly, screaming insults, “Let go of me! Bitch! Let go!”

Lesly snarled at the woman. “You whore! How much did Aubrielle pay you? She’s just some trash my husband dumped! How dare you…”

Another slap landed on Lesly’s left cheek. Her eyes widened. The woman raised her hand again.

“Mom!” Gideon called out.

Lesly froze in shock. “Mom?”

Gideon’s mother Victoria Carman clapped her hands. The lawyer tossed a stack of bills at Lesly’s

feet.

“Every penny you spent during my son and daughterinlaw’s marriage came from their joint assets,” Victoria said coldly, her gaze fixed on Lesly. “My daughter-in-law has asked me to settle the accounts on her behalf, and that’s exactly what I intend to do.”

Victoria’s expression was calm, but the air grew heavy with crushing pressure. Lesly burst into tears. “Mrs. Carman, you can’t do this to me…”

Lesly sobbed, her voice choking. “I’m pregnant. This is Gideon’s child, your grandchild. You can’t treat me like this!”

Lesly latched onto the child as her last hope. “I’m pregnant! Even if you won’t spare me, at least spare the child. Are you really going to kick me out like this?”

Gideon listened to Lesly use the baby to blackmail Victoria, and his gaze snapped to me.

He remembered years ago, when he’d chosen me over his family and been beaten by his relatives. I’d thrown myself in front of him, taking more than a dozen strikes, leaving ugly scars all over my

body.

He’d held me, crying in agony. “How could you be this foolish?”

I’d only smiled, “For you, everything is worth it.”

He heard Lesly say, “Once I have this baby and Aubrielle signs the divorce, we’ll be a real family.”

He suddenly remembered the time he had asked me, “Aubrielle, if I’m not a Carman, would you still be with me?”

Without a second’s hesitation, I pushed him away.

Just as disappointment flickered across his face, I pulled a box out of my suitcase.
