Sister’s Perfect Cheat Became Her Ruin Chapter 04

Sister’s Perfect Cheat Became Her Ruin Chapter 04 Celebrating Too Soon

laughter inside died the moment I came home.

Mom’s bright smile vanished when she saw me. She gave a sharp snort.

“Why are you just standing there? You look like a ghost haunting the doorway.

“Today is Elsa’s big celebration. She estimated at least 680 points. Her place in the Alpha Central Tribunal and the Bloodline Rite is practically guaranteed. Don’t come in here with that funeral face and ruin her mood.”

Elsa deliberately raised the communicator in her hand and waved it at me.

Her voice turned sugary sweet. “Helen, did you estimate your score?

“Everyone in the pack’s dying to know how you did. After all, every single time we took a trial before, you somehow ended up with the exact same answers as me. Funny how that kept happening.”

I did not answer or even glance at her.

I walked straight into my cramped little room and shut out the noise and praise outside.

When I logged into Pack Net, the first thing I saw was Elsa’s post from fifteen minutes earlier.

The photo showed a plate of juicy roasted venison. The caption was only one line.

“Estimated score: 680. Glad all that hard work paid off.”

The comments were already blowing up. Dozens appeared within minutes, all from low-rank wolves in our pack falling over themselves to flatter her.

[No way. We really have a genius in the low ranks! Elsa is THAT girl!]

[680? First place is in the bag. Alpha Central Tribunal, here she comes. High-rank glow-up loading!]

[Meanwhile, a certain cheater did not have Elsa sitting in front of her this time. Bet she cannot even qualify to sweep the quarry floor LMAOOOO.]

I kept scrolling until I reached a post I had made three months earlier about winning first place in a tactical competition.

The comment section used to be quiet. Now the newest replies were full of vicious attacks posted that day.

[A cheater really posted a trophy? Girl, did you copy the award too?]

[They seated everyone far apart this time, so who are you going to copy now? Enjoy your 200 points and your lifetime job breaking rocks.]

A short while later, heavy knocking sounded at the front door.

The visitor was Burke, the richest and most influential low-rank wolf in the area. He made his fortune through mining.

High-rank wolves treated us like dirt, but the low ranks had their own brutal pecking order.

Wealthy families with valuable hunting rights and large estates usually looked down on poor households

like ours.

Burke normally passed our house without even looking our way. If we greeted him, he barely grunted.

This time, he walked in carrying two expensive boxes of premium deer-blood concentrate and an entire cured game leg, wearing an almost desperate smile.

The moment he stepped inside, he grabbed Dad’s hand in both of his and bent at the waist, speaking with almost embarrassing politeness.

“Wow, you sure raised one incredible daughter!”

Then Burke turned to Elsa. His normally arrogant eyes narrowed into happy slits.

“Elsa, you made every low-rank wolf proud today! Joining the Alpha Central Tribunal is only a matter of time. Once the Bloodline Rite elevates you, you’ll be one of the elite.”

Elsa accepted the expensive gifts with practiced pride. “Don’t worry, Uncle Burke. Once I make it big, I won’t forget the people back home.”

Burke grinned so broadly that his whole face crinkled with wrinkles.

He praised my parents and tried to win them over as if our family had suddenly become the most respected household in the pack.

For the rest of the day, wealthy low-rank wolves who usually looked down on us came crowding through our door with gifts.

They fawned over Elsa, hoping she would bring them along once she rose to power.

In the middle of that loud, crowded home, I was nothing more than an abandoned shadow.
