The Don’s Reborn Lover Chapter 17By Novel7s / May 12, 2026 The Don’s Reborn Lover Chapter 17Adrian rented a new place. That night, we lay facing each other, hand in hand. “I want to see your body.” There was nothing lustful in the way he said it. He only wanted to see my scars. Right in front of him, I took off my clothes. With his callused fingers, Adrian traced the old scars on my back. “Are they ugly?” “No. You’re beautiful.” Adrian lowered his head and kissed those scars like a devout believer at prayer. My lashes trembled. In my last life, I had been a wronged ghost, unable to rest. Only now did I finally feel like my soul had found peace. Winter had passed, and in the spring, I was given a new life. Before I knew it, SAT day arrived. Adrian had taken first place in the physics competition and already secured his spot at North Shore University, so he did not need to take the SAT. I was the one taking the SAT, but he was even more nervous than I was. He kept checking my Admission Ticket and pencil pouch over and over. “After you finish the multiple–choice section, fill in the answer sheet first.” “I know.” “If you get stuck on a problem, don’t panic. Move on to the next one first.” “Okay.” “Elena, you’re scary good now. Getting into North Shore University won’t be a problem for you. Don’t be nervous. Believe in yourself.” “Mhm.” He really was such a dad–type boyfriend, always fussing over everything. When the last exam ended, I felt like I had done really well. I walked out of the testing center light on my feet, only for Claire to call out to me. After Sebastian died, she was the one who took it the hardest. “Sebastian told me you bugged him and stabbed him in the back for an outsider. He was devastated.” “If he hadn’t gone looking for you, he wouldn’t have gotten hit by that truck.” Something was off about Claire, so I turned to leave. She grabbed my wrist in one hard yank. Her grip was like a vise, and I could not break free. “You were born together, so you should die together too. Elena Vance, go down there and keep him company!” Claire shoved me hard, sending me over the fifth–floor corridor railing. My body crashed through the branches of a tree before slamming into the ground. I lay there with blood spilling from my mouth. Every bone in my body hurt, and my consciousness was slipping away. In this life… I stopped Sebastian from deafening Adrian. I stood up to my abusive father. I changed Nora’s fate and kept her from dying under a truck. The butterfly effect had kicked in. Sebastian died and got exactly what he deserved. But I still had one wish left. I wanted a real, normal relationship with Adrian. I didn’t want to die… “Adrian.” “Help me.” When I woke up, I was in a hospital room. Adrian was holding my hand, asleep slumped over at my bedside. I was alive. I really was absurdly lucky. That tree had broken my fall and saved my life. I squeezed Adrian’s hand, and he woke up instantly. He was unshaven, with bloodshot eyes ringed in red. “Adrian, when did you get this ugly?” He just stared at me blankly and said nothing. “I’m kidding. You’ve got that rough–cut, rugged look going on. You look handsome.” “How many days was I out?” “Seven…” His voice was hoarse. He cleared his throat, and it took him a while before he could finally say, “Seven days.” “Was I hurt badly?” “Very badly. Multiple fractures all over your body.” I smiled at him. “It’s okay. I’ll heal.” Adrian held my hand and started crying. He cried just as hard as he had when I died in my last life. “Adrian, I don’t have a home anymore.” “When I’m better, take me home with you.” He pressed a deep, lingering kiss to my forehead. “Okay.” In this life, fate had finally chosen to protect us. The love we never got to speak aloud in our last life was finally allowed to continue in this one.
