The Don’s Reborn Lover Chapter 12By Novel7s / May 12, 2026 The Don’s Reborn Lover Chapter 12“Adrian, why are you looking at me like that?” “Because I’m waiting for you to ask. Your brother was right. If you ask me, I’ll agree to anything.” In a bossy tone, I said, “Then I want the first–place trophy.” A bright smile spread across Adrian’s face, his eyes curving into crescents. “Okay.” Later, I told Sebastian that Adrian refused to drop out of the competition. “How could Adrian say no to you?” “This affects his future. Why would he listen to me?” When one plan failed, Sebastian came up with another one that very same day. Besides running the diner, Nora sometimes came to school to collect cans and scrap for extra cash. At lunch, I was lying on my desk with my earbuds in, half asleep. “Sebastian, Adrian’s mom is here.” “Make sure you piss him off enough that he hits you. Then have your parents come make a scene at school afterward. We have to get him disqualified from the competition.” “Don’t worry, Sebastian. The boys will handle it nice and clean.” Adrian wasn’t in the classroom. As I hurried out, I texted him: [Your mom’s at school. Sebastian told Dylan and the others to mess with her.] A crowd had gathered around the pond. “The crazy lady fell in!” I shoved through the crowd and ran over. Dylan had thrown Nora’s coin purse into the water, and loose change was scattered all over the pond. Nora had gone in after it. She couldn’t swim and was flailing in the water. Dylan threw rocks at her and laughed. “Look at that. She can’t get out.” Sebastian stood there with his arms folded, looking down at her with a vicious smile. I jumped in. “Nora, don’t be scared. I’m getting you out.” The pond wasn’t deep. But whenever Nora got overstimulated, she spiraled. She didn’t cooperate and ended up clawing my neck. A student in the crowd called out, “Sebastian, aren’t you going to help your sister?” Sebastian always acted gentle, and he was famous for doting on me. Faced with everyone’s confusion, his face darkened. Left with no choice, he jumped in too. A second later, Adrian came running over and dove in as well. Sebastian pulled me out of the water. Adrian got his mother out. Once they were back on shore, Adrian exploded and kicked Dylan straight into the pond. Then he grabbed Sebastian by the collar, eyes blazing, and drew back his fist to hit him. Sebastian spread his hands calmly, just waiting for Adrian to swing. “Adrian… don’t fight.” Soaking wet on my period, I felt awful. My neck burned too. The skin had split, and I was bleeding. My body swayed as I shivered. Adrian let Sebastian go and caught me instead. I leaned against his chest and stroked it lightly, trying to calm him down. “You should take your mom home first, before she catches a cold.” Nora had been badly frightened. She clutched her head and screamed, and she was almost impossible to calm down. The students pointed at her and whispered. “Adrian’s mom is crazy. That’s terrifying.” Red–eyed, Adrian looked at me for a long moment, then left with his mother. Sebastian took me to the hospital. Wrapped in a blanket, I felt freezing cold, like the wind was blowing straight through me. Sebastian sat beside me, bored, and took off his watch. “The watch got water in it. I’ll have the driver take it to Wilson’s shop and get it fixed.” Damn it. Of all times, it had to break now. Would Mr. Wilson find the bug inside it? “Sebastian, let me take it in for you.” “You’re in no shape for that. Just lie down.” Listening to him sound so concerned, I felt a flicker of foolish hope. “Can you stop going after Adrian?” After being reborn, I really had considered trying to pull Sebastian back onto the right path. With an injured look, Sebastian said, “You think I told Dylan to go after his mom? How could you think that about me?” Right in front of me, he was still acting, still pretending to be the perfect student and the perfect brother. My mind cleared instantly. In my last life, he got back at Adrian by torturing me and throwing me to a pack of homeless men to be raped. He was a bad seed, beyond saving.
