Alpha, You Lost Your Luna Chapter 06

Alpha, You Lost Your Luna Chapter 06

Later, I heard Griffin was so furious he lost control, shouting my name over and over at the estate gates and trying to rush into the flames.

In the firelight, Griffin finally snapped completely and started driving his fists into Landon again and again.

“Landon-”

“Give me Violet back!”

The fire was huge.

It was as if the Moon Goddess herself were helping me.

A southeast wind drove the flames forward, and half the villa burned down until only a blackened skeleton

remained.

Landon took the beating until his face was swollen and bruised and blood stained the corner of his mouth,

but he never fought back.

He dropped to his knees as though his soul had been ripped out of him and stared at the burning wreckage, muttering to himself, “How did this happen…? She only said she wanted to recover in peace. Why would she

set the place on fire…?”

Daphne came running over in a rush, her skirt in disarray, one high heel nearly slipping off, her makeup

ruined.

She didn’t care about any of it. She dropped straight to her knees in front of Griffin, tears streaming down

her face in streams.

“Alpha, this is all my fault. Violet has really suffered too much lately.”

“That gasoline smell… she set the fire herself. She just wanted us to live with guilt for the rest of our lives.”

“She wanted to die right in front of us. She wanted to make sure we would never forget her.”

She lowered her head, waiting for one softened word from him, waiting for even the smallest scrap of pity.

What she got instead was a sharp slap.

“Don’t touch me.”

Griffin stood there staring at the blaze, his eyes so empty it was frightening.

He hated himself.

He hated that Violet had once offered him her whole heart, and he had taken it in his hands only to throw it

into the mud and crush it underfoot.

She had loved him that much, and he had never treasured it.

Now she was gone.

He really deserved to die.

Daphne’s face turned white, and even her lips started trembling.

She had calculated everything, but she had never imagined Violet would actually dare to do this.

This wasn’t madness.

It was a final break, a complete severing of ties, and a ruthless one at that.

Panic hit Daphne, and she hurried over to grab Landon.

“Landon, Violet did this on purpose. She’s just jealous of me. She just doesn’t want me to have anything

good.”

“I already admitted I was wrong. Why would she still do something like this?”

“Say something for me, please—”

But Landon looked as though someone had hollowed him out from the inside. He sat among broken, charred

beams and ash, his face numb and empty.

After a long while, he finally lifted his head. His eyes were dark enough to make anyone shudder.

“You were the one who arranged for those people to bring those filthy booklets and provoke her?”

Daphne shook her head frantically. “I didn’t! She already had too many enemies in this Pack. They did that

on their own-”

Landon let out a cold laugh, his gaze sharp as a blade.

“She gave up her place. You got what you wanted. She was already half-dead.”

“And you still wouldn’t let her go?”

Daphne’s lips trembled. She was just about to keep defending herself when Nora suddenly rushed forward

and shoved her without hesitation.

Daphne fell to the ground so hard she even forgot to cry.

Just then, a Gamma guard came running over, panting hard, and dropped to his knees with a thud. “Alpha, we didn’t find Princess’s body.”

“The floor collapsed, and there are signs that someone tampered with an escape passage underneath it.’

Landon froze for a second, then suddenly burst into laughter like a madman.

“She didn’t die… She’s still alive… Violet isn’t dead…”

But in the very next second, he dropped to his knees again, clutched his head, and broke into sobs.

“But after everything I’ve done, how could she ever be willing to come back…?”

He remembered the last thing I had said before leaving.

“I don’t owe Daphne, and I don’t owe you either.’

At the time, he had been so furious he slapped me hard across the face and cursed me for not knowing my place.

Now, with the handwritten letter the Gamma guard had found in his hand, the memory I had buried for

years was finally dragged all the way back into the light.

When I was eight, I caught Carter Kingsley, Daphne’s father-a Gamma wolf-secretly plotting with

someone to make a move against Winterveil Pack’s future Alpha. He locked me in a storage room, but I

fought my way out and fled with Griffin, who was still the Alpha heir then, across the long street and into an

abandoned well where we hid.

There were people chasing us from behind, and in front of us there was nowhere left to run.

Carter came after us too fast, slipped, smashed his head against a rock, and died on the spot.

And I was so terrified that I blacked out right there.

When I woke up, that memory was gone.

But the body had been left at the scene, so everyone assumed Carter had died trying to save Griffin.

He became the loyal hero who had given his life for him, and Daphne became the daughter of their fallen

benefactor.

A few tears from her were enough to completely enchant my brother.

Landon willingly cleared the path for her and held her high above everyone else.

Griffin believed she was the one who had saved his life too, so he was willing to give her glory, status, and

dignity.

But the one who had truly risked everything to protect him, the one who had dragged Alpha heir Griffin back from death’s door that year, was me.
