I Saw Our Remaining Meetings Dropped From 31441 To 9 Chapter 14

His voice was a little hoarse. He wasn’t used to tattling-it came out clumsy.

Carter panted, his gaze on me dripping with wounded grievance. “His strength is insane. Look, I’m red right here. See?”

He stretched his neck toward me, voice dipping with coaxing. “Rowan, he’s so mean. Plays

innocent so well. Look, my skin’s broken right here…”

Miles’s face went pale. He opened his mouth and not a single word came out.

I frowned and pushed Carter’s face away. “If it hurts, go to the health center. Don’t act insane out

here.”

Silence. Everyone around us sucked in a collective breath.

“Maybe you should compensate my boyfriend for the trauma. Biting at everyone like a damn dog.

Look at his face-you scared him pale.”

Carter stared at me in absolute disbelief.

I didn’t give him a second look. I grabbed Miles’s hand and turned to leave.

“And stop spreading fake rumors. We were never together. Miles is my first boyfriend-not some

third party. You’re the jerk who bullied my boyfriend.”

Even after we were far away, I could still hear the murmuring.

Miles stayed at my heels, his eyes ridiculously bright, his steps light and almost giddy. The second

we stepped into Adventureland, I turned to look at him.

“That happy?”

His lashes fluttered. He gave a soft hum. “You chose me over Carter. I’m really happy.”

I poked his arm. “I’ll choose you over anyone. So, Miles, you’ll always be happy.”

He stared at me, quiet, until my face burned.

I’d heard the Ferris wheel was better at night, so I dragged him to the haunted house first.

“Miles, I’m so scared. Can I hold you in there?”

I couldn’t keep the smile off my

face.

My innocent Miles nodded with total seriousness. “I’ll hold your hand. You won’t get lost.”

He didn’t let me get lost, all right. And he didn’t just let me hold him he let me touch.

Inside the pitch-dark haunted house, his ragged breathing came wave after wave. My hands

roamed freely over his upper body, and he never once stopped me.

Not until we were about to exit did a hand catch my arm. In the half-shadow, I saw his neck completely flushed, his eyes damp around the edges.

“Can we wait until we’re outside…?”

I looked down, crouched, and shook with silent laughter.

He was too cute. I couldn’t handle it.

At the very top of the Ferris wheel, fireworks burst in every direction. I stared, stunned.

“You planned this?”

Miles’s eyes reflected not just the fireworks and the starlight, but me.

“Yeah. Do you like it?”

I cupped his face, leaned in slowly, and watched his pupils dilate before I pressed my lips softly against his.

“I like it. Not just the fireworks.”

“You too.”

All I could see was that first stunning glimpse of him.

His lips really were perfect for kissing.
