My Secret Guardian Is an Incubus Chapter 10 Cutting Ties

I coughed awkwardly.

The second I remembered what had happened earlier in the apartment-helping Lucien calm down-heat rushed straight back into my face.

Unfortunately, Vanessa noticed immediately.

She shrieked like I’d personally committed a crime.

“You’ve really lost your mind now!”

Her finger shook furiously as she pointed at me.

“You’re actually lying to the police with a straight face? Annie Walker, you’ve become completely shameless!”

Without saying a word, I unlocked my phone and pulled up the apartment security footage.

The audio played clearly through the mediation room.

“I already gave the wedding money to Vanessa.”

“Once you and Ethan get married, your father and I can move into this apartment too.”

The room instantly went quiet.

Even the officers exchanged awkward looks.

At this point, it was obvious to everybody that this wasn’t some simple misunderstanding anymore.

It was a full family disaster.

One officer pinched the bridge of his nose like he already regretted coming to work today.

Then suddenly-

The mediation room door slammed open.

A familiar figure stormed inside.

My father.

Robert Walker.

The moment he saw me, he immediately raised his hand to slap me.

“You ungrateful little bitch!”

“I’ll teach you some respect!”

Before his hand could touch me, Lucien stepped forward instantly.

His expression darkened coldly.

He grabbed my father’s wrist midair-

Then shoved him backward hard enough that he stumbled several steps away.

Vanessa immediately burst into tears the second she saw him arrive.

“Robert!”

“Look at your daughter now!”

“I kindly brought Ethan over to discuss marriage, and she’s living with another man!”

“She even had him kick us out!”

Then she suddenly grabbed her stomach dramatically.

“I’m carrying your child and she still treats me like this!”

Everything inside me went cold.

My eyes slowly lowered toward Vanessa’s stomach.

And suddenly-

Everything finally made sense.

Why my father gave Vanessa the apartment key.

Why he secretly accepted money behind my back.

Why the man who used to love me more than anything suddenly started siding with them.

Because he was having another child.

I stared at my father with burning eyes.

“When Mom died.” I said quietly, “you promised I’d be your only child.”

My father froze briefly.

Then looked away guiltily.

“That was years ago.”

A second later, his anger returned immediately.

“So that gives you the right to hit your elders?!”

“She’s your mother!”

My voice shook violently.

She is NOT my mother”

My mother died years ago.

Robert’s face darkened,

“Then I’m still your father, aren’t I?!”

“What, you’re going to deny me too now?”

Something inside me suddenly went completely calm.

Cold calm.

“When Mom was dying, you promised her you’d never remarry.”

“You promised you wouldn’t have another child.”

“You broke that promise.”

I looked directly at him.

“Vanessa knew Ethan had massive gambling debt.”

“She still worked with him to pressure me into marriage for money.”

“She planned to move into my apartment after the wedding.”

“You’re my father.”

“You were the ONLY person I told about buying this place.”

“But you gave Vanessa the key anyway.”

“You let them walk into my home and try to force me into marriage.”

My voice finally cracked slightly.

“Did you ever stop to think what would’ve happened if Lucien wasn’t there?”

“Did you even care about me at all?”

For a moment, my father’s expression stiffened awkwardly.

Then he instinctively started defending himself again.

“Nonsense!”

“Ethan is a good man. What gambling debt?!”

“And what about YOU?!”

His voice rose sharply.

That was the moment the very last bit of attachment I still had toward him disappeared completely

I handed my phone directly to the officers,

“I’m not settling this privately.”

My voice turned icy.

We can handle this legally.”

Then I turned and walked toward the door.

Behind me, my father shouted furiously-

“Don’t you dare walk away from me!”

“You ungrateful daughter!”

But before he could chase after me, Lucien stepped directly into his path.

Towering.

Cold.

Terrifying.

Even my father instinctively flinched backward slightly.

“What are you trying to do?!”

“This is a police station!”

“You think you can hit me here?!”

Lucien stared at him emotionlessly.

Then said quietly-

From the beginning, you only listened to Vanessa.”

“You never once considered Annie’s feelings.”

“No wonder she stopped coming home after graduation.

His crimson eyes turned colder.

“You don’t deserve to call yourself her father.”

Then Lucien turned and walked after me without another glance.

As I stepped into the hallway, I overheard one of the officers speaking quietly behind me.

Vanessa Walker’s injuries are minor. No grounds for criminal charges.”

And Ethan Cole does appear to have severe outstanding debt.”

The officer flipped through paperwork.

“Bank records confirm he’s already been placed on a financial enforcement list.”

“The debt exceeds one million dollars.”

A horrified scream immediately exploded from inside the room.

“…What?!”

My father’s voice cracked completely.

“Vanessa-”

“You lied to me?!”
