My Secret Guardian Is an Incubus Chapter 02

My Secret Guardian Is an Incubus Chapter 02 A Bold Move
“OH MY GODDDD Annie really went straight for the finishing move. His tail is about to tear through his jeans.”
“Lucien is such a freak in the sheets, I’m crying. Why would she grab THAT unless she was trying to seduce him?”
“Forget the tail — this man’s brain just blue-screened. He’s probably imagining fifty different ways to use those condoms.”
“This is so filthy. I’m obsessed.”
My face exploded with heat.
I’d grabbed the box too quickly to even look at it first.
Why did it have to be condoms?
And not just condoms.
Trojan Magnum XL.
I looked up at Lucien again.
His eyes were lowered slightly, dark lashes casting soft shadows beneath them. The corners of his eyes naturally curved upward in a way that made him look lazy and dangerously seductive at the same time.
His lips were parted just enough for me to glimpse sharp white teeth, and the flash of a dark red tongue behind them.
For absolutely no reason at all, the sight sent heat rushing straight to my stomach.
I swallowed hard.
Three full seconds passed before my brain finally processed what he’d actually said.
Then I looked down at the slogan printed across the box.
“Feel Every Inch of Desire.”
My brain short-circuited.
Completely.
In a burst of panic, I snatched the box back out of Lucien’s hand and immediately tapped my phone to pay.
“No harm in being prepared,” I blurted out.
“I mean… I’ll probably need them eventually anyway.”
The second the words left my mouth, I wanted to throw myself into traffic.
What the hell was wrong with me?!
I spun around and speed-walked toward the exit before Lucien could say another word.
The floating comments chased after me immediately.
“HELP, one sentence and this man is instantly hard. What exactly did he imagine?!”
“Girl, obviously he’s imagining pinning Annie down and ruining her with those condoms all night long. He’s the king of repressed horny men.”
“If he wasn’t scared of frightening her, they’d already have a toddler by now. This man is DOWN HORRENDOUS.”
I nearly tripped over my own feet.
Behind me, Maple Street Market had gone strangely quiet.
Then I heard Lucien’s low voice speaking to the cashier.
“Cover the register for ten minutes.”
A pause.
Then quieter—
“…I need a minute.”
