I Was The Wrong Girl In His Bed For Three Years Chapter 13

(Wait, what is Graham doing?]

[She did that on purpose, didn’t she? Can she just go away already?]

[It’s an ego thing. What guy could handle being cheated on like that? Graham is just being possessive, nothing more.]

The comments continued. I fought him the whole way.

Graham didn’t let go.

When we got home, he carried me straight to the basement.

The lock clicked.

I’d never been down here before.

My pulse spiked. My voice came out shaking.

“Graham, let go of me. We can talk about this.”

“It’s so dark down here. Can we please just go upstairs?”

“No.”

He threw me onto the bed.

The lights came on. I froze.

Every wall was covered with photos of me.

Me sleeping. Me eating. Me in the dresses I used to wear for him.

And then there were the stockings, the underwear, the ripped dresses I’d thrown out.

Some were sealed behind glass. Others had clearly been… used. Torn and scattered.

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up.

“Graham…”

His arms wrapped around me from behind.

“You’re not going anywhere anymore.”

I went rigid.

He pressed his face into my neck. His voice was muffled against my skin.

“I took my eyes off you for one second and some random guy shows up.”

“How did he get to you? He’d never been in the picture before that day.”

It hit me all at once. My blood ran cold.

“Were you… tracking me?”

“How did you know he hadn’t been around before?”

“How did you know what hotel I was at? Who I was with?”

Graham was quiet for a beat.

“Baby.”

“There are trackers in your phone and your bag.”

I stared at him.

He frowned, like he genuinely didn’t understand why that was a problem.

“I should know where you go and who you see.”

“So where did he come from?”

“Did you meet him online?”

My mind was spinning.

I realized I’d never really known him at all.

“Are you insane?”

He didn’t deny it. He just kept going.

“Did you meet him online?”

My eyes burned, and the words ripped out of me.

“What about you? You’re the one who had an online girlfriend. You married me because you thought I was her.”

“And the second Sloane came back, you bought her a necklace at auction.”

“Graham, you don’t even like me. Why are you acting like you care?”

i was spiraling. I yanked the necklace from my pocket and threw it at his chest.

“I ripped it off her neck.”

“Does that hurt?”

“Then go comfort her!”

Graham watched me cry. Then his gaze dropped to the necklace.

His whole face changed.

“Baby. I never mistook you for anyone. And I never gave her anything.”

He pulled out his phone and called his assistant on the spot.

“Sloane stole from me. Pull the security footage, call the police, and tell our business partner to replace her.”

I couldn’t think. I couldn’t move.

Graham pulled me against him.

He kissed the tears off my face, murmuring against my skin.

‘Maren, this is my fault. I let you believe all the wrong things.”

“Don’t cry. Just listen to me. Okay?”

“You were the one I was trying to reach online. I used to come into Maple & Main all the time while

you were working there, but you were always busy. You never noticed me.”

“When Sloane pretended to be you, I talked to her for a bit. I figured out fast that something was off

and blocked her.”

“So I went to Briarwood myself. That’s how I finally got to talk to you.”

“The only reason I’ve seen her lately is work. She was the rep from our partner company. Not

anymore.”

I pressed my lips together.

But Graham had it wrong.

How could I have missed him?

He was gorgeous, quiet, distant, impossible not to notice.

Even in a plain white shirt, every girl in the café would stare.

Back then, Sloane was always showing off her phone, bragging about him.

She said she was dating the hottest guy on campus.

I thought the day he came up to me was the first time we met.

I never knew he’d been watching me long before that.

My voice came out quiet.

“You always ordered an iced americano.”

Something lit up in Graham’s eyes, something I’d never seen before.

“Baby. You remember me?”

My cheeks burned. I changed the subject.

“Then what was all that stuff you ordered?”

Graham’s smile vanished. A faint flush crept up his neck, and suddenly he couldn’t look at me.

“Because you said I was old. And boring.”

“So I did my research.”

“If some random guy thinks he can impress you, I’d rather make sure you never need to look anywhere else.”

His eyes darkened. His fingers laced through mine and locked.

He closed the distance between us until there was nothing left.

“Maren. I told you. This is one thing I don’t lose at.”

“Every time you put on one of those dresses and crawled into my arms, I was terrified I’d lose control and scare you.”

“Baby. Once a day was never enough.”

I backed up. He followed. Step by step until my back hit the headboard.

“Graham, Wesley really is my cousin. You can look it up if you don’t believe… mm.”

He kissed the words right out of my mouth.

“Baby. You’re not allowed to say another man’s name in this bed.”

The comments appeared.

[WHAT kind of plot twist is this?? This is insane. How did the story go this far off the rails?)

[I’ve been DYING to say this. Sloane is literally the other woman?? She stole someone’s identity AND the necklace. How are people still shipping her with Graham??]

[FINALLY someone said it! Am I the only one who thinks Graham and the “side character” are actually perfect together?? I NEED more of them. Give me EVERYTHING!!]
