The Invisible Luna’s Revenge Chapter 04

After that, I started searching for the antidote on my 

own. 

To keep him from noticing I’d been rummaging through his things, I always put everything back 

exactly where it belonged, careful as could be. 

One afternoon, I heard the key turn in the lock earlier 

than I’d expected. 

Jack stumbled in, kicking over the trash can in the 

hallway. He glanced around, annoyance flashing across 

his handsome face. 

Clothes were strewn all over the couch. A layer of dust 

coated the bookshelf. A dirty coffee cup sat on the table, 

unwashed. 

“Anna?” he called out, “Can’t you see what a mess this 

place is!” 

Silence was all that answered him. 

He walked over to the desk, pulled out a notepad and a pen. “Anna, something’s off with you today. What’s wrong? Write it down for me.” 

He stared straight at the spot where I was standing. 

I stepped forward and picked up the pen, writing: [Where is the antidote?] 

His smile froze for a split second, then clicked back 

into place. “I know you’re desperate. I am too. But the witch needs time, honey. What you drank is the only unstable prototype! It’s a formula that bends light and alters perception… brewing a stable reversal isn’t as easy as making coffee. But you have to trust me, I’ll 

make them keep working on it.” 

Same old speech. He’d said the exact same thing every 

time, for three years. 

He glanced at his watch and switched gears. “Listen, a 

council elder and the Alpha of the Grayfang Pack are 

staying here tonight. I need you to make dinner, clean the guest room, and for goddess‘ sake, tidy this place up too. I can’t let them see it like this.” 

God, what did he think I was, a invisible maid?! 

But I wasn’t the same weak Omega I used to be. 

When he brought the two men back to the pack house 

that night, the place was even more of a mess than 

before. 

“Jack, my boy…” The elder, Mr. Aldrich, looked around in confusion. “This is where you live?” 

The other Alpha, Ben, chuckled under his breath. “Wow. You’re really living like a college frat boy here. 

That’s fun.” 

Jack’s neck flushed bright red. “Sorry, it’s just… work’s been crazy lately.” He hurriedly grabbed a huge armful of clutter and dumped it in the bedroom, then bolted 

for the kitchen, hoping dinner would salvage his pride. 

But there was nothing on the table. The sink was piled high with dishes, and the fridge was practically empty. 

“How’s that steak you mentioned earlier, Jack?” Mr. Aldrich poked his head in and asked. 

“It’ll be right out!” Jack slammed the kitchen door, 

spun around to glare at me, and growled, “Why? Why are you doing this?” 

We’d grown up together. He was the Alpha with a 

bright future, I was the orphan Omega. When he got 

busy with pack business, I quit my job to stay home, 

cook, clean, take care of his life, stroke his ego. I 

worked like a maid. Even after I drank the potion and 

turned invisible, I still obeyed. 

But look how he treated me? 

I stared back at him, and took half a step back. 

“Anna?” He hissed, “Are you here? What’s gotten into you?” 

“Jack?” Ben pushed the kitchen door open. “Everything okay? Who are you talking to?” 

Jack forced a smile and blocked Ben’s line of sight. “Little domestic disaster. Let’s go out to eat, my treat.” 

“Go out?” Ben groaned, “Dude, we’re still jet–lagged. Mr. Aldrich is exhausted too. You promised us a home–cooked meal before the summit tomorrow, and 

a quiet place to rest. It’s almost nine o’clock already.”
