Oops! I Fell for My Love Coach Chapter 05

X knew Theron’s schedule inside and out.

X had told me to break in and tie Theron up.

The things X bought for me had matching ones in Theron’s house.

Today, I had sneaked into Theron’s place, and he had somehow come home early.

Even when I said Theron had no muscle, X got mad.

Early the next morning, I went to campus with dark circles under my eyes.

I had just reached the academic building when I saw a group of girls gathered outside.

“Oh my God. Alpha Theron is actually wearing fitted workout gear today!”

“That muscle definition is insane.”

I squeezed into the crowd.

Just in time, I saw Theron walking over.

The Alpha who usually wore loose casual clothes and covered himself completely was wearing a black compression top today.

For once, every line of his shoulders, back, and arm muscles was on full display.

He walked through the crowd with no expression, not even sparing anyone a glance.

But when he passed me, he slowed down on purpose.

Then he turned slightly and raised his wrist to check his watch.

That move practically shoved the words “Look, I have muscles” right in my face.

I fought back a laugh and lowered my head to text X: [I take back what I said last night. Theron’s body actually looks pretty good.]

The second I sent it, I looked up and stared at Theron.

His hand slipped out of his pocket.

He pulled out his phone and glanced at it.

A stiff, unnatural flush appeared on that permanently icy face of his.

Then he shoved the phone back into his pocket and quickened his pace into the building.

It hit me like lightning.

Case closed.

The creep spying on me, the rich guy buying me clothes, and the mentor teaching me how to force romance into existence were all Theron.

The untouchable Alpha of Grayridge Pack.

Once I confirmed it, everything felt surreal.

No wonder he never replied to my good morning and good night texts.

Every night, he was watching me fall asleep through the cameras.

No wonder I had chased him for a month and made zero progress.

He didn’t want gentle concern—he wanted me to show up at his door and tie him up.

Since my crush turned out to be a pervert wearing an ice-cold mask, I had no reason to be polite anymore.

At noon, I deliberately went home.

I walked to my closet and took out an extremely sexy black slip dress.

Then I held it against my body.

In front of the pinhole camera behind the succulent on my bookshelf, I put on a troubled expression.

After that, I took out my phone and messaged X: [I’ve decided to give up on Theron.]

X replied instantly: [Why?]

[He’s impossible to win over. My mom arranged a blind date for me. He’s a rich heir, and we’re meeting at a steakhouse tonight. I’m planning to wear this black dress.]

X: [You’re not going!]

X: [If you dare wear that to meet another man, I’ll wreck that restaurant.]

I ignored him.

I switched my phone to silent and tossed it onto the bed.

After classes ended that afternoon, I deliberately lingered near Ridgecrest Road.

A black SUV screeched to a stop in front of me.

The window rolled down.

Theron looked furious behind the glass.

“Get in.”

His voice was cold and hard.

I put on an innocent face. “Alpha Theron? Is something wrong? I’m in a hurry. I have a date.”

The moment he heard the word date, his grip on the steering wheel tightened hard.

“I never said you could take the night off. There’s an urgent project I need your help with. Get in. Now.”

I almost laughed to myself.

Keep acting.

Go on.

I hesitated for effect, then sighed dramatically. “Fine. But I have to be back by eight.”

Theron didn’t reply. He just hit the gas.

We drove in silence. I watched the trees blur past and tried not to smile.

When we pulled into his driveway, I saw the curtains in his living room twitch. Someone was waiting.

Theron got out and opened my door. His jaw was tight, his eyes dark.

“Come inside.”

“Alpha Theron,” I said sweetly, “this is very sudden. I thought you didn’t like me.”

He stopped mid-step. His back went rigid.

Then he turned, and his voice came out low and rough.

“I never said I didn’t like you.”

“You didn’t say you did, either.”

He stared at me, something raw flickering behind his eyes.

Then he reached out and grabbed my wrist.

“I’m saying it now.”

I let him pull me inside.

The door clicked shut behind us, and I finally let my smile break free.

Game on.
