A Gift for the Don: I Aborted His True Love’s Heirs Chapter 07

A Gift for the Don: I Aborted His True Love’s Heirs Chapter 07

In the final frames of the video, inside the black car, I opened my eyes. Blood streamed down my face, but I was alive.

The moment Damian realized I had faked my death, he hunted for me with renewed madness.

A month later, his men reported seeing a woman in Rome who looked exactly like me.

Damian didn’t hesitate. He prepared to fly his people to Italy immediately.

Nina stopped him just before he boarded the plane.

“Damian, don’t go! I can give you everything you want! The doctors say my condition is improving. Remember?”

“Audrey faked her death and ran away. That means she doesn’t want you anymore. Once we’re married, I’ll give you children. As many as you want. Damian!”

Damian just shook off her hand. His expression was terrifyingly cold.

“I have one wife. Her name is Audrey Santoro.”

Tears streamed down Nina’s face. “Damian, weren’t you in love with me? You never wanted Audrey before! Why? Why?!”

“I was angry that she ‘forced’ me into marriage. But from the very beginning, she was the only Donna I ever recognized.”

“I’ll give you enough money to live comfortably. After that, stay away from Audrey. Forever.”

Damian looked at Nina with ice in his eyes and left without looking back.

But this trip was doomed to fail.

Because I had already returned to the Santoro family.

I knew faking my death wouldn’t fool Damian forever. And I never planned on hiding forever.

He was the one who did wrong. He was the one who deserved to live with regret.

All I needed was to start my new life.

I saw Damian again at a charity gala.

Julian Sorrento stood at my side. The Sorrento eagle ring was on my finger. People who once knew me stared in shock.

That’s when Damian shoved through the crowd. His eyes were wild and bloodshot. He grabbed my wrist.

“Audrey. I knew you weren’t dead.”

He reached to pull me into his arms. But before I could even react, Julian kicked him away.

Julian’s blue eyes narrowed. His hand moved toward his waist. “I’m right here. Touch her again with those filthy hands and you’ll regret it.”

I caught the possessiveness in his voice and took his hand on my own. He visibly relaxed.

My heart steadied too. Soothed by his protection.

When I turned back to Damian, there was nothing in my eyes.

No anger. No pain.

He couldn’t affect me anymore.

Damian stared at our intertwined hands. His face twisted in agony.

His question came out like an accusation.

“Who is he?”

I answered calmly. “The man I chose to love.”

I loved Damian Falcone for ten years. And Julian Sorrento loved me for ten years.
