My Alpha Bonded with Someone Else, I Did Too Chapter 04

I had just finished packing when Cole suddenly came back.

Rachel was with him.

Her foot was wrapped in gauze, and she hopped inside with a dramatic wince.

I watched as Cole crouched down, held her ankle, and gently slid her feet into slippers.

He supported her by the waist and helped her sit on the couch, then turned around and poured her a cup of warm water.

That cup was his personal one.

He was a clean freak and had never shared cups with me.

Once, I accidentally used his cup to drink water. The next day, I saw that same cup in the trash.

Cole looked at me with an indifferent stare, casually dropping the news.

“Rachel slipped in the bathroom and hurt her leg. Her old apartment building doesn’t have an elevator, so it’s hard for her to go up and down the stairs. She’s staying here for a few days.”

I said nothing and continued packing.

Rachel clicked her tongue when she saw that, then hooked an arm around Cole’s shoulder.

“Maya’s getting jealous again. Hurry up and take me home, or she’ll start accusing us of sleeping together.”

She curled her lip.

“We’re completely innocent. I don’t want to get falsely accused .”

Cole looked at me impatiently, about to speak, but I cut him off.

“I don’t care. Let her stay.”

After all, I was leaving.

As if he had not expected me to agree so easily, he visibly froze.

Just then, our cat, Q, darted out of the bedroom.

The moment Rachel saw the cat, she stumbled backward in fear.

“Cole, get it away from me!”

Cole frowned and kicked Q aside. Then he lifted Rachel into his arms and carried her to the guest room.

When he came back out, his tone was cold and commanding.

“Rachel’s scared of cats. Send Q to a pet boarding place for a while.”

The moment Rachel arrived, even the little fur baby we had raised for five years was being kicked out.

I forced down the ache in my throat and nodded.

“No need. I’ll take Q with me.”

Only then did Cole notice the suitcase in my hand. He frowned.

“Where are you going?”

“Home.”

He froze for a second. Then his brows relaxed.

“That’s fine. We both need to cool off anyway. Besides, you’ve never liked Rachel. It’s probably better if you leave for a bit. Once her leg heals, I’ll come pick you up.”

But I had never planned on coming back.

When I turned to leave, I stopped and called his name.

“Cole Anderson. Goodbye.”

When his eyes met mine, a sudden wave of panic cracked his composure.

He grabbed my arm. “Why are you saying goodbye like that?”

The next second, Rachel cried out in pain from the room.

Cole instantly rushed inside with a tense expression, leaving only one sentence behind.

“I need to take care of Rachel for now. Don’t bother me with all the tiny details about the mating ceremony. Just handle it yourself.”

In his eyes, anything involving Rachel was important.

I watched his back as he disappeared, my eyes burning.

But no tears fell.

I had already run completely dry.
