My Alpha Hid Our Son for 12 Years… Now I’m the Royal Healer He Lost Chapter 04

Kael called after us. But I never slowed down.

Hand in hand, Rowan and I walked toward the East Wing Residence.

It was supposed to be our final stop before leaving the Silvercrest Pack forever.

Even that last bit of peace they refused to leave us.

That evening, a maid knocked on our door.

“Healer Elara. Dinner is ready. The Alpha has ordered every pack member to attend. The future Luna has also prepared a special gift for Young Master Rowan.”

The dining hall felt strangely empty. Kael and Celeste sat at the head.

In front of Rowan’s chair sat a small stone bowl. It was filled with a deep violet liquid.

Moonlight reflected across its surface while strange magical energy pulsed beneath it.

The scent alone made my blood run cold.

“Please, sit.” Celeste smiled sweetly.

Then she pointed toward the bowl.

“This is Ravenwood’s Blood of Awakening. A sacred tonic reserved for gifted young wolves. It strengthens bloodlines. Normally, only pups with exceptional potential are worthy of receiving it.”

As the former High Healer of the Silvercrest Pack, I knew exactly what it was.

For a pureblood Alpha pup, it could stimulate dormant power.

For any wolf whose bloodline wasn’t considered “perfect”, it was poison.

It forcefully awakened the wolf before the body was ready.

If the pup couldn’t withstand the surge, their wolf core could shatter forever.

“No.” I instinctively pulled Rowan behind me.

“He can’t drink it.”

Celeste blinked innocently. “Why not?”

She turned toward Kael with an expression of pure confusion.

“I only wanted to see the potential of this orphan you’ve been raising.”

“If he survives the Blood of Awakening, perhaps he’s worth training.”

“If not…” She smiled gently.

“Then it simply proves his bloodline is exactly what we expected.”

My hands clenched into fists.

They wanted to gamble with a twelve-year-old child just to satisfy their obsession with bloodlines.

I looked at Kael. As an Alpha, he should protect his pup.

Instead, he calmly swirled the wine inside his glass.

“Celeste means well.” His voice was utterly emotionless.

“The path to strength is never safe. If the Silvercrest Pack wishes to become stronger, someone has to take the first step.”

Then his golden eyes settled on Rowan.

“Rowan. This is your chance. Prove your worth. Show everyone you’re strong. Even without your father’s name.”

Something inside me broke. He truly intended to sacrifice his own son.

Kael’s Alpha aura spread across the room. The pressure settled heavily over Rowan.

“Drink it.”

His command carried the irresistible authority of an Alpha.

“Show everyone that a child under my protection is no coward.”

Rowan’s face turned deathly pale.

He looked at the purple liquid. Then at Kael.

The man he’d spent twelve years hoping would finally acknowledge him.

Slowly, he stood.

“No!” I lunged toward the bowl.

Before my fingertips could reach it—

“Hold her.”

Kael’s voice cracked like thunder.

Two pack guards rushed forward.

They grabbed my arms.

Twisted them behind my back.

Forced me into a chair.

“Let me go!”

“Kael! You’ll regret this! That’s forbidden medicine! It’s forbidden by every High Healer!”

I struggled wildly. Tears streamed uncontrollably down my face.

“Please! Don’t make him drink it! He’s only a child!”

Kael never even looked at me. His voice remained cold.

“Drink.”

Rowan looked at me one last time. There was despair in his eyes.

And heartbreaking determination.

He picked up the stone bowl. Closed his eyes. And drank every last drop.

One second. Two.

Then—

“AAAHHHHH!”

A scream tore through the dining hall.

Rowan collapsed onto the floor. His entire body convulsed violently.

Purple energy raced beneath his skin like living lightning.

His veins bulged.

“It hurts… Mom…”

“It feels like… I’m breaking apart…”

Blood streamed from his eyes. His nose. His ears.

The newly awakened wolf core inside his body was cracking beneath the overwhelming power.

“ROWAN!” My entire world shattered.

A mother’s rage exploded from deep within my soul.

My wolf roared.

Healing power burst from my body like a tidal wave. Blinding white light erupted throughout the dining hall.

The two guards holding me were blasted backward. They crashed straight through a towering wine cabinet. Glass exploded everywhere.

I dropped beside Rowan. Pulled him into my arms.

My hands pressed desperately against his chest, pouring every last drop of my life force into his body to fight the potion’s poison.

I never looked back at Kael. But my voice froze the entire hall.

“Kael! Even a full-grown Alpha requires a High Healer’s guidance before drinking the Blood of Awakening!”

“And you forced a pup who completed his First Howl less than twenty-four hours ago to drink it without protection?”

“That’s one of the oldest sacred taboos recorded in every High Healer’s teachings!”

I held Rowan tighter as his small body continued trembling violently. Every shake felt like claws ripping through my heart.

“You were willing to let your own son die just to test whether he was worthy? You call this protecting your pack?”

“No.” My voice trembled with fury.

“To you, he was nothing more than an experiment. A disposable test subject.”

Silence.

Kael stared at Rowan. At the blood covering his son’s face. At the child convulsing in unbearable pain.

For the first time, his perfect composure cracked.

A flicker of panic crossed his face.

He had truly believed his Alpha bloodline alone would make Rowan survive anything.

“I… I thought…”

The words died before they could leave his mouth.

Behind him, Celeste shrank back.

“I… I didn’t know it would be this serious… I suppose…”

“He really inherited weak Omega blood… his bloodline just isn’t strong enough…”

Without sparing either of them another glance, I lifted Rowan into my arms.

I walked toward the door.

At the threshold, I stopped. But I never turned around.

I just left them with one final truth.

“Kael. You don’t deserve to be Rowan’s father.”

“And you don’t deserve to be an Alpha.”
