My Alpha Hid Our Son for 12 Years… Now I’m the Royal Healer He Lost Chapter 03

My Alpha Hid Our Son for 12 Years… Now I’m the Royal Healer He Lost Chapter 03

The following morning, Kael was already seated at the head of the dining table inside Alpha Manor.

He didn’t mention the Release Papers.

It was obvious he still believed they were nothing more than another one of my empty threats.

In his eyes, I would never have the courage to leave.

“To make up for missing Rowan’s First Howl.”

He slid an ornate velvet box across the table.

“This is for him.”

I opened it. Inside lay a gleaming silver whistle engraved with the crest of the Silvercrest Pack.

“A silver whistle?” I stared at him. My voice was barely audible.

Kael’s expression remained indifferent.

“It’s not a toy. It’s a trial.”

“Silver is the ultimate test for every wolf.”

“If he can’t endure this little bit of pain, how will he ever survive a real battlefield? Then he doesn’t deserve to carry my blood.”

Silver.

The greatest weakness of every werewolf.

Especially for a pup who had just completed their First Howl.

Every touch would feel like thousands of burning needles piercing flesh and bone.

Kael actually intended to use agony to purge the “weakness” from his own son’s bloodline.

“He just completed his First Howl!”

I struggled to keep my voice steady.

“He needs guidance. He needs acceptance. Not torture.”

Kael’s expression never changed.

“This whistle will remind him that weakness always comes with a price. He needs to learn to master pain.”

Before I could answer, the front door opened.

Celeste Ravenwood walked in gracefully.

Several attendants followed behind her, pushing large suitcases into the manor.

The moment she saw me sitting beside Kael, a trace of contempt flashed across her face.

“I hope I’m not interrupting.”

Her words were polite. Her eyes weren’t.

“Healer Elara.” She tilted her head with a smile.

“The Alpha has always been far too generous with you.”

“Children with Omega blood need discipline from an early age. Otherwise they’ll grow up completely uncontrollable.”

She clapped lightly.

“Throw away all these old tribal decorations. And those ugly bone carvings.”

She looked around the manor with obvious disgust.

“This place should reflect the elegance of the Ravenwood Pack.”

One attendant immediately picked up Rowan’s favorite childhood treasure—

A polished deer antler he’d spent weeks carving by hand.

The servant casually tossed it toward a garbage bag.

“Don’t touch it!” Rowan sprinted downstairs.

He snatched the antler from the servant’s hands and glared at Celeste.

Celeste immediately took a dramatic step backward and hid behind Kael.

“You see? This is exactly what happens with mixed blood. So emotionally unstable.”

“Rowan!” Kael’s voice crashed through the room.

“Apologize to Miss Ravenwood.”

“Why?” Rowan lifted his chin stubbornly. “She was throwing away my things.”

“Because starting today, this is her home too.”

Kael’s expression remained icy.

“And I said so.”

Then he turned toward me. His voice left no room for argument.

“Celeste is moving into Alpha Manor.”

“She represents this pack’s future. Her noble bloodline is extremely sensitive. I won’t allow the unstable energy from you and Rowan to disturb her wolf.”

He paused before speaking again.

“Don’t report to the infirmary today. Pack your belongings. Take Rowan to the East Wing Residence for a few days.”

I stared at him in disbelief.

“So… our ‘inferior blood’ might contaminate her?”

Kael’s jaw tightened.

“I’m stating a fact. Know your place, Elara.”

A laugh escaped my lips.

There was nothing left worth arguing over.

I reached for Rowan’s hand.

“Understood.” My voice was perfectly calm.

“We’ll leave immediately. We won’t disturb either of you.”

We had already planned to leave the Silvercrest Pack. Leaving one day earlier changed nothing.

Kael frowned slightly. He seemed surprised that I hadn’t argued.

For a moment, he looked as though he wanted to say something.

But in the end, he stayed silent.

A few minutes later, Rowan and I walked out of Alpha Manor carrying two small suitcases.

As we passed through the living room, Celeste crossed one elegant leg over the other and smiled at Kael.

“Alpha. Are you really allowing this orphan and his mother to stay on the estate? I’m afraid their presence will affect the purity of our alliance.”

Orphan.

The word struck me like lightning. I understood instantly.

Kael had told everyone Rowan was another man’s child.

His own son reduced to an orphan.

Instinctively, I stepped in front of Rowan, shielding him behind me.

“He isn’t—”

Kael interrupted before I could finish.

“His father was my bravest warrior.”

His hand tightened around the suitcase he carried. Not mine.

“He died protecting this pack. As Alpha, it’s my responsibility to care for his family. It’s a matter of honor.”

Honor. What a flawless lie.

I opened my mouth to expose the truth.

But before I could speak, Rowan stepped out from behind me.

He looked up at the towering Alpha standing before him.

“Thank you, Alpha Kael.”

His small voice was clear. The title shattered something inside me.

The distance between those two words felt greater than an ocean.

I forced myself to smile.

“Come on, Rowan. Let’s go.”

We walked past him.

Suddenly, Kael grabbed my wrist. His voice trembled almost imperceptibly.

“What… what did he just call me?”

I laughed softly. The sound was filled with exhaustion.

“He thanked you for your honor, Alpha.” I gently pulled my arm free.

“Your future Luna is waiting. Let go.”

For the first time, Kael actually flinched.

Almost as if someone had struck him.

I took Rowan’s hand.

Without another glance, we walked toward the East Wing Residence.
