When I Was Reborn, I Froze All Her Accounts Chapter 07

When I Was Reborn, I Froze All Her Accounts Chapter 07

I pushed the front door open. William’s face was ashen, Alexander wore a blank, emotionless

expression, and two bodyguards had Ethan pinned flat on the ground.

Ethan’s left eye was swollen shut, a gash split open the corner of his mouth, and his clothes were

caked in dirt. He looked like a pariah who’d lost everything he once had.

William bent forward.

“Ms. Moretti, I’ve brought this degenerate fool before you. You may punish him in whatever way

you see fit.”

Ethan craned his neck to glare up at me, his lips trembling.

“Scarlett, I truly know I’ve messed up. Please spare me just this once.”

“What were you thinking plotting with six separate companies to sabotage the Moretti family business? Did you ever stop to consider the fallout?”

“It was all Olivia’s idea!”

I let out a cold laugh. Men are always this predictable. One moment they worship you like treasure, the next they cast you aside like garbage.

“Just yesterday you swore Olivia was the only girl you had feelings for. How come you’re trying to pin everything on her now?”

Ethan fell silent, unable to come up with a reply.

“Get on your knees and beg for forgiveness!”

William drove a harsh kick into Ethan’s lower back, then grabbed the back of his head and forced

his face downward.

Ethan’s forehead thudded against the tile floor again and again as he begged.

“I’m sorry, Scarlett… I’m so sorry…”

His forehead split open, smearing blood across the floor tiles. I leaned against the doorframe and

watched him.

“Scarlett, I really have learned my lesson. Olivia was nothing but a casual fling to me. You’re the only one I’ve ever loved.”

I swung my hand and slapped him sharply across the cheek.

“Save it. Your empty words disgust me.”

I turned toward William.

“I will not reverse my decision to pull my investments. But if your family intends to stay relevant in

this industry, I have one condition.”

William swiped at the cold sweat beading on his temple, staring at me with an obsequious look.

“Name your terms, Ms. Moretti. The Rossi family will agree to absolutely anything you ask for.”

“I want you to make a public announcement formally cut off and disowned by his family. From this moment on, he will be completely severed from all Rossi family ties, now and forever.”

William breathed an obvious sigh of relief and eagerly conceded to my terms.

Alexander stepped forward, pulled a sheet of paper from his pocket, and tossed it down in front of

Ethan.

“You’re officially disowned from the Rossi family, effective immediately. Here’s the signed, sealed legal paperwork proving it.”

Ethan stiffened all over.

“Alexander… Dad…”

William averted his gaze coldly. Barbara opened her mouth to speak, but William roughly dragged her toward their car before she could get a word out.

Ethan slumped alone on my front doorstep, clutching the notice tightly in his hand.

I knelt down to meet his gaze.

“Ethan, you’ve only got yourself to blame for everything that’s happened to you.”

He lifted his head, bloodshot eyes blazing.

“Scarlett, you’ve ruined my entire life. I’m going to make you regret this.”

He pushed himself shakily to his feet, swayed unsteadily, and limped away.

Olivia’s court hearing came soon afterward.

When she was led to the defendant’s seat, she looked utterly vacant and disoriented. No trace remained of the popular girl she’d once been in high school.

Once the judge finished reading the indictment, Olivia’s attorney made an outrageous claim: that I had voluntarily given Olivia permission to use the card, meaning no theft had taken place.

Well, I guess there really are all kinds of people in this world.

I stood right up to object.

“Your Honor, Olivia alleges I gave her permission to use this card voluntarily. If that is true, I ask that she specify the exact date I purportedly turned it over to her.”

Olivia cut in hastily.

“You told me yourself I could spend money on that card whenever I pleased!”

“Your Honor, my family has provided full financial support for Olivia starting in her freshman year of high school.

Over those years, I took pity on her, so I occasionally let her make small purchases on this card for basic daily necessities.

I always required her to notify me and report every purchase she made afterward.”

I locked eyes with Olivia and continued.

“After we graduated high school, I decided she was capable of supporting herself financially, so I

took the card back into my sole possession.”

“Instead, she snuck into my room and stole it behind my back.”

Olivia let out a shrill scream.

“That’s completely untrue! You outright stated you were giving me this card to use however I saw | fit!”

“Olivia, when exactly did I ever say something like that? Do you have any proof to back your claim?”

Olivia opened and closed her mouth, unable to utter a single response.

“You can’t answer, because you have no evidence at all. I never said those words to begin with.”

“Luckily, I’ve kept all that security footage this entire time”

I pulled my phone out of my purse and played the video, which clearly showed Olivia slipping the,, card away.

Total silence fell over the entire courtroom.

I looked straight at Olivia.

“Are you

still going to insist I gave you this card willingly?”
