The Billionaire Alpha’s Farming Luna: Too Late to Please the Herbal Queen! Chapter 05

The next day, the entire estate buzzed with activity.

But when I looked up, I saw the massive banner stretching across the hall: [Happy Birthday, Nell.]

I stopped a servant to ask, only to find out that today was the anniversary of the day Nell had been adopted into the Ashford Pack.

She treated this day as her birthday, and every year the Ashford Pack threw a lavish celebration for her.

But today was also the day I went missing.

I remembered it vividly.

It had been raining heavily that day. Drenched to the bone, I was struck by a speeding car, and when I woke up, I was in an orphanage.

Thank the Moon Goddess, I met my adoptive mother.

She adopted me, supported me through college, and gave me endless love. I also learned herbal medicine from them, eventually building my own clinic and career.

I might have missed having my real parents as a child, but I was never without love and happiness.

Evening arrived quickly, and luxury cars lined the estate’s driveway.

Inside, the atmosphere was festive, with streamers hanging low and a champagne tower radiating a sweet aroma.

Nell, dressed in a silver evening gown, mingled proudly among the guests, soaking in all the praise and flattery.

After a few rounds of drinks, Graham, his face flushed with excitement, raised his glass and cleared his throat to speak.

“Today is my daughter’s birthday. Thank you all for coming.”

With a wave of his hand, several servants walked over carrying trays.

“I specially purchased the Moonridge Estate as her birthday gift.”

Calder also stepped forward, sliding a car key into Nell’s hand.

“Nell, I specially ordered a Ferrari for you from abroad—titanium body, top-tier protection.”

Applause erupted, followed by waves of amazement from the crowd.

“These gifts are incredibly lavish—an estate plus a supercar. This is grander than most weddings.”

“Some people just have all the luck—cherished by their mate and backed by their family.”

Once the chatter died down, Graham slowly spoke again.

“There’s one more matter to address tonight. We have taken in a distant relative, Maren.”

“Due to financial difficulties, she’ll be staying with us for the time being.”

The phrase “distant relative” instantly sparked murmurs among the crowd.

“So she’s just a houseguest staying with them. No wonder her dress looks so cheap.”

“That cut? It’s at least five or six years out of date.”

I looked down at the dress I was wearing—it was the one Nell had given me yesterday.

I had no other choice. My own clothes had been torn to shreds under the whip, and this was all I had to wear.

It was only then that my father’s gaze fell upon me, disgust instantly flashing in his eyes.

Calder hurried over, his tone laced with irritation.

“What on earth are you wearing? Are you trying to embarrass the Ashford Pack on purpose?”

Just as he grabbed me to push me toward the door, a loud voice echoed through the hall.

“Alpha Bram sends his congratulations—a pair of sapphire earrings, a pink diamond necklace, and ten chests of top-tier jewelry!”

Everyone froze in absolute shock.

Bram Whitlock? The rarely seen institute director and the billionaire everyone talks about?

Everyone rose to their feet instinctively, eyes fixed on the entrance.

The crowd parted, clearing a path.

Bram strode toward me in a dark patterned suit, diamond cufflinks glinting at his wrists, his hair perfectly in place.

Under everyone’s stunned gazes, Bram stopped right in front of me and took my hand.

“Maren, today is the first time I’m meeting your family. How do I look? Good enough for you?”
